I think you have a good argument!. The problem does not just lie with the school system!. Our schools are attempting to educate in mass!. An analogy would be a cafeteria attempting to feed 100 or more like a family of 3!. The menu can't have enough diversion to satisfactorily do the job!. Children learn at different paces and in different ways!. Some children who grasp the work easy, have no problem completing work in class; others struggle or don't get it at all, therefore the (overloaded) teacher sends them home with unfinished work!. This is then complicated by undereducated(unless they have a degree in teaching), overworked(usually worked an 8 hour day) and stressed out parents!. You and I have stated the problem; does anyone have the answer!?

I have long been a advocate for less to no homework!. My reasons being the student and teacher should have enough time together to complete the work!. Overtime I have realized my error (reread what I wrote above)!. I also realized (after hearing about College) that High School as preparation for College requires the student to learn to study independently!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, different people have different reactions to stress, and different ppls parents treat there kids differently!.

i for one get very stressed with work, which is only escalated by negative criticism from my parents and grand-parents, however i take it in ym stride, so i am now very patient and learn to ignore it!.

i suppose it depends who you are, whereas it has had a positive effect on me, it may have a negative effect on others, and, it could be the reason some families split up, but not the only reason!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, without the school system there would be a lot more ne'er do wells and criminals, so I guess there are trade offs in everything!.

When you have a job and a family and the stress that goes with trying to balance all that, you'll look back on your school years fondly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Actually, a survey conducted by Metropolitan Life last November found that most students are able to complete their homework within an hour each night!. In fact, one out of every four parents surveyed said that there wasn't enough homework!.

I'd suggest talking over your problem with your school counselor!. Maybe he or she can help you develop some strategies to make homework less of a burden!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I used to be homeschooled (JUST NOW started public school)
and never really got along with my parents well!. Even though they didn't throw tons of homework on me!.

I definitely wouldn't say it's all because of the school system!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
