Hello:

First I would like to say that when making a statement like "the more they showed Barney (purple dinosaur costume) the more violent the kids got!." I do not recall ever hearing anything along these lines!.

The point of letting our kids know they are individuals is 1) well really its a duality where we are all individuals but we all live in an interconnected way by necessity of being in a society 2) this lets children know they do not have to become subservient to a cause!.!.!.be it the church, the state, a business, and so on!.!.!.that they are first a person that chooses!. 3) As an individual this also creates moral responsibility!.!.!.as a person who is ultimately in control of their own actions when something is done wrong they are to know that they are the one to be held accountable for what they have done!.

Now you make sweeping statements without explanation Sure, there are plenty of individuals and groups that have a vested interest in you doing one thing over another and would be happy to influence you in whatever way they can, however by instilling individualism in our children we can hope that they will keep that at their core and rebel when necessary!.

What is the alternative!? Tell our children to just pick a cage and learn to like it!?

also the word 'your' implies ownership!.!.!.as in that is 'your opinion, or is that your pen!? You are is shortened to "you're" as in the example: you're not being very clear!.

I hope this helps
