Question: Sufi, Philosophy: In order to relieve the hunger of others, we must forget our own hunger!?
Riches and power may vanish because they are outside of us, but only that which is within can we call our own!. In order to awaken love and sympathy in our hearts, sacrifices must be made!. We must forget our own troubles in order to sympathize with the troubles of others!.

To relieve the hunger of others we must forget our own hunger!. Everybody is working for selfish ends, not caring about others, and this alone has brought about the misery in the world today!. When the world is evolving from imperfection towards perfection, it needs all love and sympathy!. Great tenderness and watchfulness is required of each one of us!. The heart of every man, both good and bad, is the abode of God, and care should be taken never to wound anybody by word or act!. We are only here in this world for a short time; many have been here before, and have passed on, and it is for us to see that we leave behind an impression of good!.

There are however blessed souls, souls who are really satisfied and whose hunger is stilled by seeing another person eating or who are happy seeing another person adorned with beautiful clothes!. It might seem to us a great renunciation or self-denial; but they have been given a cross to bear and have risen above it!. Sacrifice gives no pain; it only gives pleasure!.

Love another and do not depend upon his love; and: Do good to another and do not depend upon receiving good from him; serve another and do not look for service from him!. All you do for another out of your love and kindness, you should think that you do, not to that person, but to God!. And if the person returns love for love, goodness for goodness, service for service, so much the better!.

There needs to be a beautiful balance maintained on both sides!. However, never ever forget your own hunger, to sacrifice it for the one who can't satisfy their own hunger themselves or at least make the same sacrifice in return to you!. Interested in reading more!? Read on!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

There is no doubt about it that in pursuit of awakening love and sympathy inside our hearts, we need to make some sacrifices!. However, one-way sacrifices are purely a waste of one's lifetime!. When you realize that the other person is only interested on the recieving side, you need to stop making those sacrifices to awaken their own love and sympathy inside themselves!. Our troubles can never be forgotten and should never be ignored without being resolved first and given the priority!. Only then, we can set out in the world with that beautiful mind, heart and body and try to fix other's issues or problems!. As you can easily misunderstand this philosophy as "selfish", however, if you look a little deeper in it, you'd realize the true sacrifice starting to be made for yourself, learning to do it, experimenting with it and then applying this learned "sacrificing" technique onto others!.

The misery in the world starts with either being "too" selfish or being "too" sacrificing!. If someone slaps your face, you are not supposed to give another opportunity to be slapped!. You need to first find out the reason and see if he/she really did it knowingly or deliberately to hurt you or was it a misunderstanding, then forgive it ONCE!. When he/she repeats the same mistake, then respond with the equal power, if not exceeding the amount of revenge to show your inner strength and your stability of mind and body!. However, if you continue being slapped and become used to it, then you have basically killed your own self-respect, honor and dignity which are the true essence of a being a human being and enjoying the life!.

Generally speaking, this world needs a tender, watchful, lovely and sympathetic behavior!. The one who never initiates any hurt via words or actions, is the most wonderful person!. However, in the name of so-called peace, if you continue to suffer in the hands of the verbal and physical abuses, you are putting yourself through a hell which you don't deserve at all!. You can always rise above the situation and take control of your life and be strong enough to leave a good impression and legacy for our kids, family or friends!.

When you are hungry, you can never feel satisfied by looking at someone else eating or when you are yourself nude, you can't feel good by looking at other people wearing clothes!. Sacrifices are essentially painful and they must be made only for a greater cause i!.e!. loving someone who returns the same amount of sacrifices in love!.

The one-way philosophy of doing good and receiving "nothing" in return is simply another way to deceive people into things which they would never do provided they used all of their own mind, logic and thinking first before believing into such thing!.

hope it helps, :)
