Yes, it can be taught!. But it is one of those things that is very hard to conceptualise without seeing examples!. So one can learn virtue either from examples in books (eg!. scripture, uplifting stories/novels, biographies, etc) or from examples of real people in real life (eg!. a loving, patient mother; a law-abiding, honest father; a hard working grandmother; a chaste sister or brother or friend, etc)!.

also, it can be taught from within!.!.!. from an inner feeling of right and wrong!. For instance, as a child often I would say or do something I didn't know was wrong, but as soon as I said/did it I would have a bad feeling!.!.!. and that feeling would teach me that what I had just said or done was not the right thing to do at that time!. So, the intuition of the heart can also train the mind to understand and do virtuous things!.

It is by intuition that I learned that I must always keep my promises!. This is sometimes seen as "innate" virtue, but really it is all learned!.!.!. and innate virtue is just virtues that were quickly learned through the intuitive perceptions of the person's own heart!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Virtue is a social creation!.Therefore it is learned!. It is also relative to society and belief system!. A virtuous Aztec might not have been considered virtuous to a Spanish conquistador and visa versa!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
