Position:Home>Philosophy> Is a Utopia actually possible?Question: Is a Utopia actually possible!? I feel like there are definately ways in order to make a community where everyone is happy!. But it seems like there's always another community that gets the blunt of the deal!. Either that, or people become greedy and feel that they deserve more than their peers!. So I ask, can one society, or even indiviual, live happily, without another society of indiviudal being miserable!? Explain yourself, no yes/no!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: One person's Utopia is another's hell!. A for instance: My Utopia would be rational and atheist!. It would have social justest at it's core!. It would be based on Radical Liberalism!. I have a feeling Do you think that a Southern USA Fundi would believe that to Utopia!?Www@QuestionHome@Com The larger a utopia is, the lower the chances of success!. In order for everyone to be happy, they have to have the same standard of living and NOT WANT MORE!. That's nearly impossible!. Men desire more because a better provider can get a better mate!. Women desire more for their children!. Fighting natural instinct is extremely hard, which is why most utopias in fiction end up with birth control, artificial nurturing techniques, and no marriages!. Societies need to expand as they grow which is why you have territorial disputes!. When a country can no longer invade its neighbors, it sometimes turns on those within its own borders that it sees as outsiders, interlopers, or social parasites!. When every acre of land is already owned, the only way to get more is to take it away from whomever owns it now!. The only way to safely expand societies right now is to develop undersea communities and space travel!. If major efforts are put into that, it would introduce a safety valve for most of the world to take the pressure off!. Perhaps you could hook them up to their own personal virtual illusion worlds from the moment they are born!. Seems lonely, but they don't know the world isn't real!. What is labelled utopia is just a subjective feeling manytimes to be proven wrong consideration!. People say democracy is utopia, others say communism is utopia still others say that happy life is utopia and in the end you realise that utopia is only something of a unsure remark on the behalf of those who are skeptics!. Www@QuestionHome@Com Nope, not possible because some people think that striving to try and end humanity is the only thing that really makes life worth living and there will always be more of them to come since the population of the cities keep growing!.
