Matter is 'substance' and could only be controlled by consciousness if mind, and not matter, is ultimately real!. The proof for the ultimate reality of matter is presently on hold due to the shutdown of the particle generator in France!. Until scientists come up with the 'Higgs Boson' particle, there is no philosophical reason to accept the real existence of matter!.

We experience mind directly & intuitively and only experience matter secondarily through sense-data!. The rational response is to accept the existence of mind and only conditionally allow the existence of matter!.

Inanimate matter is lifeless and has no movable parts or conscious!.
