I consider myself to be one of the most tolerant, open minded and liberal people you are likely to meet!. Yet when I try to talk to the self proclaimed feminist, I often find that it`s like poking an open bleeding soar!. It`s more difficult than discussing religion with a fanatic- why is that!? What is this need to take to arms against half of the humanity!? I can understand it in the less civilized societies or for 60 years ago, but now!.!.!. in Europe!? Does it always have to be a "racial" or "gender" question- are we not mature enough to deal with the problems as "human" probes!? What are you fighting for!? Thank you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm a female against feminism!. All it has done is double the people trying for the same jobs and left kids at home alone!. Crime and unemployment have gone up and the value of the family has gone down!. What happened to the days where women were treated like women and men were expected to be men!. Radical Feminisim is very often, but not always, tied up with abortion, and personal guilt over the same!.

Despite all the talk about "equal pay for equal work", Feminisim, as a philosophy and a lifestyle, depends upon the easy availablity of abortion to work!. The central pillar of the moden feminist movement is abortion!.!.!.that's why they didn't go after Clinton for sexually harrasing his interns and staff!.!.!.he was pro-abortion, and the fact he would keep Roe v!. Wade the law trumped anything and everything else he could have done!.

Why is that!? Well if you buy into what Ms!. magazine tells you, if you are going to live the "Sex in the City" lifestyle of free and easy sex without marriage!.!.!.well sooner or later you ARE going to get pregnant!. It's just a matter of statistics!. Nothing is 100% effective, and even the stuff that does work!.!.!.well it doesn't work very well as well if you are drunk and forget it!.

If you wind up pregnant and you aren't married, and you also want to be "an independent career woman of the 70s", and "play with the big boys" it's very hard to do that AND be a single Mom!.!.!.(and being a married stay at home Mom, is what feminisim is fighting against)!.!.it is even harder to continue the whole Sex and the City lifestyle once you become a single Mom!.!.!.when you are paying for Fisher Price toys and day care Manolo shoes just aren't in the budget!. This is a problem because Feminism tells women that the way they can be most fulfilled in life is the whole "Sex and the City" life!.!.!.and the poorly timed pregnancies that are a side effect of that life will put an end to that life!.!.!.The Feminist solution!? have an abortion!

Bottom line, many, if not most, of the women who bought into the whole Feminist lifestyle over the past 40 years have had at least one abortion at one point or another (According to one site I saw over 1/3 of American Women have had at least one abortion!.) and feminisim is perfectly OK with that!.

Most women who have abortions, especially after they later have children, or see sonograms of other people's children, feel very guilty about !.!.!.well lets just be honest!.!.!. they feel like they paid someone to murder their unborn child!.

Most women are far from comfortable with that concept!. They feel that someone who would pay good money to have their unborn child, who never did anything to anyone, chopped into pieces is "a bad person", and they don't like to think of themselves as a bad person!. Feminisim tells them they are NOT a bad person!.!.!. so they embrace the Feminist agenda on an EMOTIONAL level!.!.not a rational one!.

Feminisim tells them that they are NOT 'a bad person"!. Feminisim tells them "that if it's legal it MUST be "OK""!. Feminisim is full of arguments about how abortion is a right!.!.!.("if men could get pregnant abortion would be a sacrament") even if they don't hold water logically!. Thing is they don't have to hold water logically!. This isn't about logic or rationality, it is about personal self-image and personal guilt!. The idea that abortion is "OK" is something that on a very deep emotional level they NEED to hear, and feminisim tells them that!.

An attack on feminisim is an attack on their emotional support system!. You are right, on an emotional level you literally ARE poking a bleeding sore!.

Most feminists have a chip on their shoulders!. They are angry individuals!. They have a secret resentment against men for past injustices!. The anger and resentment becomes an energy that fuels their life, and it's addictive!. So they view the world and men as objects of hate!. It's a way of life!. To them it's never fair!. Being this way they actually drive good men away, so they attract weak men that feed their agenda, and then they are angry at the weak men in their lives!. It's a no win situation!. I don't think many people are suggesting sameness but really just equality of rights!. 'Vive la difference' as the French would say!.

A big part of the problem associated with feminism is that many people think that there are only two distinct genders, there aren't - its all shades of grey!. (shades of pink!?)

Am sure that attitude matters and choice of words in every conversation!. And therefore believe that, not every feminist is very difficult to communicate with!.

The issue of civilization here calls for no comparision(actually that is why i asked about your objectivity being a compliamnet or a believe from your self)!. Its all about individualizm!.Generalization will not yeild good results and loss of temper!. Women only need to be heard and acknowledged just like men do, though acknowledgement does not necessarily mean acceptance!.

I personally think that, the problem is generally caused by poor communication or unclear communication!. Just like you stated it; !.!.!.less civilized societies!.!.!., what do u understand here!? is it their needs being different from the civilized ones or is it their perception of the term or is it the difference in the problem at hand!? I would think that, all problems that women face are the same except for the degree and the approch used!.
so my dear, i dont think questions have to be racial or gender based but its just that more of them root from this broad topics!.
Otherwise i think feminists are trying their best to make it clear to the public what their major interest are!. Just listen a little objectively!.
Which makes me think that they are some times forced to tackle pressing issues like gender and race which are more common and easily identified!.

It's a little bit like white people who can't seem to grasp the concept of black people feeling marginalized because of their colour!. I don't think we can celebrate the differences when these differences are causing inequality!.!.!. Why should women OR men be confined to socially ascribed roles!?!? Its all about the freedom to follow your own passions and desires!.!.!.
