Question: Happiness before Money!? Whats your view!?
My girlfriend was up before the Social welfare, we were considering moving in together but were worried about how much benefit we would lose as a couple!.!. we are both disabled!. My girlfriend was told by the soc!., officer to put happiness before money, we did and now there's a difference of £41 per week compared to what we were getting as separate claimants, is this fair!?, considering that I have saved the State £70 by not claiming for rent allowance on my flat!. I think it's a bit unfair, am I wrong!?, although I am very happy in love and not having to look over our shoulders!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is unfortunate that some don't understand what disability really means! It not just the British gov't that has this iniquitous policy towards married / defaco couples in social security benefits and tax !. Though must admit that living together things like heating and light are a bit cheaper with two!. Have noticed that relationships are more stressful when there are limited resources!. It will be a test of the both of u of the commitment that's been undertaken!. Remember this everything must be 50-50 and it may be very wise for u to have less than half so as to treat the good lady from time to time!.

"Money doesn't buy happiness but sure does make much of a difference!"Www@QuestionHome@Com

I can see your point very well; however, it is a "lot" cheaper for two people to live together than apart!. Your total income may have gone down by £41 a week, but one lot of bills has disappeared completely: except that awful council tax! The state never looks at what you've done to save it money: generosity is overlooked completely!. I think that you will both be happy living together and the £41 a week will soon drift into the past, as an annoying memory!. Wait while the tories get back in; then you'll find out what bad times are!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I believe you make money to give you happiness, the more money you get the easier or happier we can be, if you work really hard to make lots of money but your job makes you unhappy- whats the point!? but if you can make less money but love your job surely thats better!? I know you dont work so think of it as having an extra £41 a week but spending most of that week stressing out when the door goes etc!.!.!.!. is it worth it!? I know what you mean though, your right in theory, will they ever get it right!? no wonder there is lots of dodgy claims!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Money can make you happy but not always is money the cause of happiness!.!. =)

I think happiness does come before money because a lot of people who are swimming in a pool of gold are so unhappy because they lack the most important thing of all -- Love!.

You are so lucky you have found each other and are happy to be together!. Don't let that amount bother you!. It's all worth losing, right!?

God bless and stay happy! =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

the bit that is unfair is the other people who take as much as they can over waht they need - you are the rare example of fairness!.

you have to look at it that way that you are better for your society , and not think about what you could get get if YOU were also not being fair

What is fair!? Working people are working really hard these days, to help pay YOUR free benefits - via heavy taxes!. You need to think about them!.
Your Welfare entitlement is based on your circumstances: you are now living with your girlfriend in one property!. You sound to me as tho you want it both ways!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

if you're happy, then really nothing else matters!. as long as you're happy, nothing else is important!.

as long as you're happy and content!. i mean, isn't it a lot more enjoyable to go through tough times with the person you love!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Happiness if defiantly before money!. If you loose your happiness you cant buy it with money!. Stay happy and you chance will come!. I believe happiness should not be traded for anything!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Two can live as cheaply as one, you are using the same electric etc,

get a job!!!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

happiness is in my eyes preferrable over money, If I we're in your situation I would move in and lose $41!. My mum showed me a survey that showed most people say that they would be happy with an extra %20 of their income per week, whether they earn $20,000 or $100,000!. happiness & others > money!.

of course where I am 41 pounds = $120, which is rent for a week, thats pretty steep, your not saving a whole persons rent just by living together!. in my view I think the states letting you down, If your still eligible claim that rent allowance maybe you should :)!. in my opinion the state are being unfair, but then again governments only know how to take money, not give it away!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
