There are two factors in this definition some may agree and others may not depends on the individuals concepts and under studies (1) Means to be able to deal with circumstances such as pressure without acting out like a child if you are 36!. Able to take a step back and not take things personally, (not take things to heart) and to know the circumstance is not all about them, and how they feel or think to have a larger perspective on the subject!. Not lack of emotions but to be able to evaluate the subject without acting out in a improperly, acting with a appropriate response!. (2) To fully answer this question is to add spiritual growth, because without spiritual growth normally one doesn't grow emotionally!. Emotions are what you think and feel!. To have the best emotional health in your life is to live the best spiritual life, they intertwine with one another!. let's say you don't know how to say no, because it's healthy to say no to yourself or others because saying no makes you feel guilty, or you are a persons that cries or complains often!. Emotional health in the spiritual contents is about self acceptance, accepting the whole self, regardless if others around you give you that a boy's, therefore you must learn about your past and how your past plays a part in your life today, what makes you tick or ticks you off!. also knowing you are not God whom has all power!. Emotional maturity is essential to self-control!. Only emotional maturity will insure the substitution of international techniques of civilized adjudication for the barbarous arbitrament of war!. Wise statesmen will sometime work for the welfare of humanity even while they strive to promote the interest of their national or racial groups!. Selfish political sagacity is ultimately suicidal--destructive of all those enduring qualities which insure planetary group survival!.

It means that a person who is emotionally intelligent has the ability to deal with challenging situations that would otherwise knock over a person down!. Yet this E!\Q person also has the ability to experience their emotions because they are human!. They are able to put the emotions in a balance so that they don't destroy themselves!.
