I also struggle with the same cruelties around me!. The way I cope is to do what I can in small ways, thus helping somewhere at some time to alleviate suffering!. I help with PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and volunteer to rock needy babies in the hospital (usually suffering from drug withdrawal of their moms)!.

I also can't let myself dwell on some things that do come up in the news, realizing that if I lose myself, I can't help anyone!.

also, I find that I am building a core sense of peace inside myself when I do these things!.

I hope this helps you!. Just remember, if there weren't people like you in the world it would be a much harsher place!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nirvana doesn't exist, but anti-depressants or anti-anxiety meds do!.
You cannot do anything to change situations half a world away!. Empathy is okay, prayer is better!.
You have already answered your own question: no!.
Choosing to be positive is your best bet ~ a little difficult to begin but easier as you go forward!.
You moved to another country!?

That is *the question!. I am told the key to happiness is!.!.!. "to know thyself!." And the Buddha said: "The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, nor to worry about the future, but to live the present moment wisely and earnestly!." But I have also heard from many Christians that God is the *only way to true happiness!.

Everybody has their own answer to happiness!. I don't know the answer!.!.!. but I often find myself happy doing things I enjoy doing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To be happy one must focus only on what makes one happy in the moment!. Focusing on dislikes can only attract more of same and it sounds like you have a whole pile of those front and center!.
Pushing against never works!.

I used to have those type of thoughts and beliefs and they almost killed me!. Then, there was no longer any choice but to wish for a better plan and it was provided to me clearly, simply and quickly!. It blew my mind!.

Cheers!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I love philosophy! Ok, don't put any thought to it at all!. It is great that you know because if you know, you won't have to worry about anything at all!. I have a theory for anything in my life and I am very educated because I constantly strive to educate myself!. Keep your mind off any of it!. Do you read!? if not pick up some "hard to put down, once picked up" books!. Try The Brothers Karamazov!. Let me know if you want anymore input!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Happiness is an emotion!. If you said "How can I be angry all the time!?" or "how can I be sad all the time!?" people would tear into you for being brain damaged and a 1 trick pony!. Being "Happy" all the time is an unrealistic expectation!. Emotions come and go!. They are like tap-water, they are not meant to sit and stagnate!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Change the things you can and accept the things you can't!.

If you can maintain a consistent level of peace in you own life you can share it with the world!. Acceptance can help!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

"Happiness is like a butterfly: the more you chase it, the more it will elude you!. But if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder!."

I am 17 and I consider myself to be an extremely happy person!. You may not want to take advice from someone who is 17, and that's understandable, but I am so satisfied with my life and I want others to have the same feeling, because I think everyone deserves it!. I would love to talk to you and perhaps have some in depth discussions, or even just some general discussions!. You, or anyone else reading this, can email me at mgreenleaf@gmail!.com, if you wish!.

I have learned that reading is one of the most important things in my life!. I love to read, and I have billions of things I want to read!. Learn everything you can and find out what your purpose on life here is!. Find out what you believe!. I was born Roman Catholic and never really questioned it, but now I am starting to explore other things and have never been happier!. I have a friend who is a year older than me!. She is so happy and excited about her religion, a feeling I couldn't even conceive!. I thought that the reason I never cared much for church/etc was because I was young, but I listened to her talk about her religion with such happiness and passion that I realized there was a good chance my indifference was a result of me not really believing in the Roman Catholic views!.

I have no idea what religion you believe and I'm not saying one is right and one is wrong!. I am saying that once you find out what you believe, even if you don't believe what any 'religion' says(at this point, I haven't found one that I feel resonates completely with me), you can still have beliefs about the world, and your purpose here on earth!.

also, find what truly, truly makes you happy and do that as often as you can!. I know a few things that make me truly happy: personal growth, dogs, music, walking in the dark and looking at the stars/universe!.

I am so passionate about this topic and am doing a terrible job of trying to convey my thoughts and feelings in this answer!. If I have not answered you at all, I am sorry!. I hope that I can at least help someone else who reads this, I encourage anyone to email me if you would like to have a discussion!. I would love to learn more from you and just share ideas!.

I will leave you with what I believe is pure gold!.

At this point, there is no one I admire more than Steve Pavlina!. I encourage you to visit his website and read at least a few of his articles!. I am working on reading the entire site, but am very busy trying to plan my future as grade 12 is a busy year!.

I am sorry this answer is poorly constructed!. I didn't really know where to start and I didn't want to spend a great deal of time on it when I didn't know if this was at all what you were looking for!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I used to worry in this fashion!. Then I got worse, I used to worry about not having something to worry about!. I thought that it was mounting up and that I would get too much all together!.

Then a doctor friend of mine told me to leave what did not concern me and believe me that certainly go rid of most of my worrying!. After that he recommended that I not read any newspapers, journals, or listen to the news on TV or radio etc!. That was a long time ago and I still heed his wise advice!.

You see worrying about all these thing saps all your positive energy and you still have not helped anyone! And what have you done to yourself!? Made yourself sad and or depressed!

If you really want to help people donate money, time, whatever you feel you can contribute and give up the negative worry that really does nothing constructive to help the needy or yourself!.

I do sincerely hope that this helps, it certainly helped me and I have never had cause to look back+

I now do what I can, when I can, where I can and move on with my own life!.

Just like this email, when I hit the submit button, I will dismiss it!. It will then be free to do whatever it was meant to do, to whom ever it was meant to do it to!.

And hopefully this will be so now, and in the future+ (Without worry)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
