Question: Life works in funny ways, don't you think!?
When i was very young I chose to have an abortion!. As the hospital was preparing me for this they discovered I have cancerous cells around my cervix!. If I had changed my mind and carried the baby full-term, the cancer would have been too advanced and I would have lost my life, leaving a baby without its mum!. Now, 20 years, 1 miscarriage and one beautiful baby girl later, Im reflecting on my life so far!. In my head I still have 3 children, two no longer with me and one healthy girl who has a mum who will hoefully be with her for a very long time!. Although I chose the abortion route before I knew of the cancer, and although my views over the years have changed on the subject of abortion (older, wiser etc) Im reflecting that it was the correct choice to make!. I don't want a debate on abortion but am interested in hearing your opinions on this choice I have made, taking in the bigger pictureWww@QuestionHome@Com

Interesting and confusing question!. Talk about situations, this question packed 3 of them together!.

Unconscious choice of self preservation but consciously letting go of another life!. One miscarriage which there wasn't a choice!. Then one conscious choice of having a baby which worked out - but only after the first seemingly bad yet lucky and rational choice way back in the past!.

This tells me how little control we have over life, how many chances we have to take to get through life, but at the end the individual would face all the choices made!. That's why it is difficult to make sense of it all but we still have to try make those choices rationally and consciously but without certainty!. (I am not even sure if I made sense in this last passage!.)

A mixture of faith in life, human wisdom and instinctive subconscious luck!? Is this philosophy or not!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Each makes those choices one has to make according to the circumstances and situation one faces at the time!.

Such is neither "right" or "wrong'!. It simply is what it is or has been or will be!.

If you had done one thing differently you would not be where you are today and we can not change our past but hopefully, we learn from the same so as to live correctly in the present moment as one wonders of tomorrow!.

May it be well with you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I do have to say this is quite interesting!. I am against abortion, but it seems to have helped in your case!. Quite amazing!. Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, I know how it is, but you have a baby girl, that is great news!. Hope the best for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The one thing that struck me was when you said that in your mind you had three children!.!.!.!.that is incredibly sad!. To have lost a child and to have had to make such a choice!.!.!.!.all you can do is live life the best you can, make the very most of the time you have!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Life works fine, its the people who react to it is funny!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Looking back is always nostalgic!. Many decisions taken long !.long ago would NOW appear to be wrong or taken without much thoughts !. It is really not so!. When you took the decision to have abortion AT THAT TIME , I am sure , you would have thought of all the pros and cons then !. It could not have been a rash decision !. And a right decision it was!.
If , for example, the doctors would have told you AT THAT TIME that after this pregnency you cannot have any more children and that your uterus would be removed you would have taken the bold decison to carry that child full term come what may!. You wanted a child and this was the chance!. !
The second -miscarriage - is an event in your life !. also because the second was a miscarriage you chose to have a third child and rightly so!. See how the whole thing ends up!? This is what is called karma!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

We all are responsible for the choices we make in our lives!. If I may reflect for a moment!. 20 years ago I came close to leaving the US to go to South America!. I was hurt deeply within my soul!. I met a girl from my past and next thing I know come March it will be 2o years that we have been married!. But it isn't exactly the best ending possible!. We seem to be slipping away from one another!.
I have never been unfaithful to her and I like to think that she has shown me the same respect!. I have been tempted though!. If I stay in this relationship I run the risk of being lonely for the rest of my days, or I could go for the gold and seek out a girl that I am very attracted to!. The point I'm trying to make is this!. It's easy to stay where you feel safe and somewhat secure, it takes real courage to reach out and do what you think is right!.
I'm not very brave these days!.
