Question: Why do some people misinterpret your actions as the exact opposite of what you intend!?
Like if you love someone, care, and open your heart to them, they think you're trying to either insult them or hurt them or point out their faults and insecurities!?

Why is it that some people misinterpret love for hate!?

Is it because they are insecure and they think that you are pointing out their insecurities or that you are reminding them of their own insecurities when that was never your intention; -It just appeared to them that way on the receiving end because they are insecure!?

I just had to leave a job I really liked because my boss consistently did this to me!. Every time I did a really good job he thought I was trying to take over!. Any time I tried to be helpful he assumed I was up to no good!. I finally decided it was because he was 'projecting!.' This is a term that means that my boss has certain things in himself he doesn't like!. Like maybe he is controlling or maybe he has dishonest intentions!. But he won't see this in himself so he has to see it in someone else!. I tried like a thousand times to correct his misimpressions!. And then I just got tired!. I realized he was never going to stop!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

People will always misinterpret your actions, your words, and your feelings to a certain point!. The reason is, because they are not you!. It is really hard for one person to fully understand or understand certain things when they are already wrapped up in their own feelings!. Their own feelings and how they perceive your message will cause all this misunderstanding!.

Just say, "Hey, I don't know what you think, but this is what I'm trying to say!.!.!. (insert message) because I really do care about you!. I don't mean to be mean or try to insult you, and I am sorry if I accidentally made it seem that way!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is a bit of insecurity involved, especially if the person has low self esteem and can't understand why anyone would like them!.
Its a bit like the old pop song that goes: "I'm just a guy whose intentions are good, why must I always be so misunderstood"

I had a sign on my desk at work that read:
"I know you think you understand what you thought I said!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.BUT!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. I'm not sure you realise that what you heard was not what I meant!"

Gets people really confused when you point to it after misunderstanding what you said!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is a common form of lying to mimic something!. So common that some people may even associate truth with lying where it is outside of their range of behavior!. Just the opposite is quite an effective method of lying!. President Bush vetoed the veteran benefit bill!. A 2/3 majority passed a veto proof version!. Bush lied congratulating McCain who voted against the bill and fellow republicans while taking credit for it at a news conference!. The public did not blink!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Awwwww! That's too bad! Just think of it as communication gap!.!.!.try another line!.

If you still can't put your point across effectively, just dismiss it as their problem!
