That is one of the most fundamental paradoxes of state formations, and can be applied to your question regarding the whole world, I think!.

The paradox is that a state (the world) composes many different individuals - each having different needs, wants, capabilities, etc!. To organize these people according to some principle is practically impossible, since most idealistic principles are not shared by every individual!. When you think about it, it is amazing how little in common every person in the world has in terms of attitudes and beliefs!.

So, yes we can all change, but what will we become!? We certainly won't all become the same!. The only way to have some sort of consensus is to agree upon a principle and have every individual change toward and according to this principle!. But then of course, which will it be, and how will you ensure that every person will change thus!?

I bet that if I asked you to change to become more like me, you wouldn't want to, and you might not even be able to!. We can change, we just change differently!. This is why I believe there can be no world peace!. We simply lack a consensus, and as long as we do, there will always be conflict!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

People rarely change!. The personality you are born with is pretty much the personality you are going to die with, although along the way you will pick up some wisdom, patience and self-control!. As for the world, it is changing!. It is deteriorating rapidly, and I expect it to continue unless some fruitcake nukes the whole planet and we are all obliterated!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Only if you WANT to change is change possible!. I am totally opposed to change, but I have had to with the advent of computers and other modern technology!. So change, while necessary, is not always good!. I personally am waiting for somebody to invent a time travel machine and I'm going back to 1967 and I will start my adult life over!. I will go to college and get a degree in psychology and then get paid for dispensing advice instead of giving it away for free like I do here in Y/A!!! Www@QuestionHome@Com
