Will we ever have a world without any central government; yet, we all live and care for each other as we do for our own children, fathers, and mothers!? How long do you think it will take until we can establish this beautiful idea of a utopia!? When will nuclear weapons finally become dismantled!? Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Thomas More, who coined the word Utopia, actually grabbed it from the Latin for "no place"!. I'm pretty sure he was making a point in that!. Humans are by nature creatures in conflict, and no, I don't think that will ever change!. We find such security in a small group that we identify with that we are even willing to sacrifice others' lives to sustain that community!. This means that weapons will always be in high demand, and the whole world will never be able to live in harmony!. Nuclear weapons will only disappear after a nuclear holocaust, because the technology that we used to create them will have been destroyed!. Einstein once said, "I do not know with what weapons World War 3 will be fought, but World War 4 will be fought with sticks and stones!." We are also extremely naturally hierarchical, so there goes the ideal of no poverty, no elitism, and no central government!. This does not mean, however, that I think we should not fight and strive for peace, health, and happiness!. But I Fought is right - one of the benefits of living in times when pain and war are inevitable is that beauty and grace can really shine!. If you are interested in Utopia and why it can never work, try reading books like Brave New World (Aldous Huxley) or Utopia (Thomas More)!. Even in worlds that are supposedly perfect, there will still be dissatisfaction, depression, destruction, and death!. Even if we establish a peaceful society someone will be upset with the way things work in this world!. And then there will be someone upset enough that they will resort to violent terms to change society to something more suited to them!. For example!.!.!. Islamic society VS Western society!. In the West women are equal to men in every way, we can criticize religion as much as we please, we can drink alcohol, gamble, be atheist!. In an Islamic society this is unacceptable behavior!. Thus cultures clash and as a result, violence occurs!. Another example, in regards to the caring for each other!. I care for my family and my friends above all else!. I don't think I could care for my neighbours (who frankly irritate me) like I care for the people close to me!. tl;dr - you will not ever get over 6,000,000,000 people to get along!. The utopia you describe may come about in the very far future, but not in any of our lifetimes, because there is always a struggle for power and it is something that humans can't fight!. But to the man who was for instance, captured by terroists and tortured, who never thought he'd live through his experience, returning home safe, seeing his family and friends again, who's to say that isnt a utopia to him!?Www@QuestionHome@Com Being a hippie flower power child of the new millenium I was dreaming about the completely border less and free and peaceful world!. I was even throwing stones at the riot police, trying to make my point!. Be careful what you wish for- it may come true: one day I`ve stopped to really think about my ideal world and I realized that I would slice my veins if I was to find myself living in this earthly paradise!. Small communities of very kind people, who find the new ways to recycle for fun and for really mad wild times: share an ecologically grown joint!. I like to see the world where there is a place for addicts, cone artists, prostitutes, alcoholics, weirdos and extremists!. It already exists but, people are to short sighted to see it!. Slowly the world is turning that way, but we still have a long way to go!. And the detail in your question, is just the thing that blocks the outcome! Why no government - is that going to make a difference in your Nirvana!? And fathers caring for their children - do they!?
