My mom is the reason I stopped being a christian!.

1!. She doesn't take care of herself!. She "sacrifices" herself!.

2!. She figures out what you need and gives it to you whether you want it or not!. usually you don't!.

3!. Everything she gives is covered in spikes, because she resents not being taken care of and so she gives with venom and envy in equal measures!.

4!. She wants to be praised and glorified for this worthwhile endeavor!.

When I do something for anybody it is all about me, because I have inherited my mother's narcissism!. So I stay out of people's business and try to keep them out of mine!. Except for my sister, to whom I am always giving unsolicited advice!. And Yahoo Answers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is easy, I approach the person with a humble spirit, realising that these days and times i am just one paycheck away from his or her situation!. I present what i have with love, and not pity!. Everyone in a bad way needs a hand-up, not pity!.And while visiting, i take "inventory" with my eyes, looking to see where else in this person's life does he or she need help!? And then I come back later(not too much later, usually a few days) and help where i can as i canWww@QuestionHome@Com

Assuming they are of sound mind and a non-emergency, wait for them to ask!. Helping without permission/invitation is the ultimate conceit of the giver, and demeaning to the receiver!.

(Perfect example - Look at the magnanimous attitude from "fought the law" who generously helps those who don't ask because they are too "stupid" or timid to manage their problems without him!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Barge in- people are often incredibly, stupidly bad at asking for help!. Pride, poor self esteem (I`m not that important) or a belief in "it`s too much to ask- I should not bother him/her", while the majority actually enjoy helping!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Only if this person is at risk of hurting themselves or others!. If there is a lesson to be taught in them lacking whatever they need, and it's not crucial to their well-being, then I would stand back!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think it's really great if you be the one who'll take the initiative!. I like helping people but I'm a rather shy person and I hope I could do that more!.!. I'm striving to be more outgoing right now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No Brainer!. Dire need is invitation enough, they do not need the even more humbling protocol!. I help!. Simply put!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
