An example of an ethical belief would be: "Charity is noble", a statement concerning the right or wrong of some act!. Examples of meta-ethical beliefs would be: "It is right for ethical standards to be determined by the people" or "Ethics must come ffrom God", so it is some statement about the very nature of right and wrong!. It is an ethical-type statement which itself comments about the right or wrong of an ethical matter! Hence: META-ethical!.
