Because if it is, then how the hell do you explain me!. I've basically built my life around being chivalrous!. Men say that all women want is to get inside your wallet, but I believe women are just looking for a good man to stick up for them when they need it!. What are your opinions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

And for any guy to have a chance at dating me they had better understand how to open a door and take care of me!. Certainly I don't expect a guy to pay for everything!. And I don't need my door opened every time, just on dates maybe!. But I want the guy to put me first!. It flatters me (a lot) when a guy acts more polite when I'm around versus how he is when its just his buddies!. My husband kills spiders for me, takes out the trash cuz I don't like the smell, and is patient with me when I have blond girly moments!. That is chivalry!. The trouble with chivalry as a modern concept that it so easily becomes an attitude both patronizing and chauvinistic to women!. Women appreciate respect and courtesy and friendship, but as equals, not as weaker beings or objects, either of worship, desire or sympathy!. Though I don't know of any man of my acquaintance who's ever said that women want to get into wallets, I also do know that women are not specifically looking for men to "stick up for them when they need it!."!. That's what friendship is about, between any gender, not just for women!. I believe true chivalry means to have respect and courtesy for all, despite differences, social class or standing, gender or beliefs!. Your intentions are good, but perhaps you may need to check your assumptions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I think about the time people started to use the term "chivalry" to describe men being polite and helpful to random women, rather than meaning a knight literally saving a damsel from the sword while riding a horse and dressed in chain mail (which is what the word actually means), that was the same time they started saying: "Chivalry is Dead"!. People are still generally nicer to and more forgiving of ladies than they are of gentlemen!. And that is appropriate!. But you have to wonder if there is room for chivalry at 7 a!.m!. when 50 people are getting onto the subway train and the seats are already all taken!.!.!.Men are supposed to stand up!? If I try to be a gentleman then I'm told by some that they don't need no man doing that for them!. I once called this one woman ma'am!. I was royally jumped out!. I was told that she worked for a living and blah blah blah!. The entire time I was thinking somebody pull the plug and let me die!. I was in the hospital at the time!. I stand up for most people regardless of gender!. And women who doesn't want a man to be chivalrous should not jump on him but merely tell him how she feels!. I personally enjoy a man opening doors and pulling out chairs!.
