Our expectations of life are usually unrealistic and hence contradictory!. If you want to receive the same breaks as everybody else, you had better have 49 bodies!. Room for those juggling skills, artificial limbs, fake boobs, spinal disorders, various diseases etc, etc!.!.!. When someone else is a thief, isn't it a contradiction that I have to be NOT a thief!? Wouldn't the world be less contrary if we were all murderers and thieves!? Sometimes we have to hold up the moral code when almost nobody else does because there must be a moral code and a society!. If we hold our end up successfully, eventual those who took unfair advantage will be punished, but life is seldom so simple and there is no moment when the game is over like the end of a round of Monopoly!. So we do what is right and often seem to get the short end of the stick!. Are you arbitrating to make sure the poor kids in your school get a hot breakfast or the slower students have tutors!? If you aren't spending a lot of time balancing the scales for those around you, who is doing this "equalizing" for you!? It doesn't just fall from the sky!. So nobody is playing sheriff, and life (in the raw,) isn't fair!. But that isn't the end of the story!. Your family, your friends, your teachers and yes your society are looking out for you, a little!. You probably have running water, frozen foods, sanitation products and clean underwear unlike much of the rest of the world!. You and I are at the very pinnacle of the "life is not fair" universe!. How lucky for us! They say that if everyone you have ever known put their talents, valuables, failings, problems and experiences on the floor and you could pick any set you wanted, almost EVERYBODY would rather pick their own than anybody elses!. In this sense, the stuff I have to deal with is FAIR, because it is what I would RATHER be dealing with than anything else!. As for the cat, he has a lot more predators after him than you or I do!.
