Position:Home>Philosophy> Is this right for a child.?Question: Is this right for a child!.!? i am a counsler!. there was a three year old and he said abama!. we asked whos obama!. the kid said "obama, he lies he cheats he steals" obviously thats pretty negative for a three year old to be told by his parents!. is it right to influence childrens politicl ideas !? or is it right to tell them anything or should we let them figure it out themselves!?what do you think!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: children, well, people in general are a product of their enviroment!.Www@QuestionHome@Com It's sad but there are a lot of things that parents shouldn't be telling their kids!.!.!. I might ask the child why he thinks that and very briefly explain that it's not right to assume things about someone!. I think at three years old the child won't understand what you are saying any more than what his or her parents have said to them!. There's not a whole lot you can do!.!.!.just keep in mind that you won't be able to fix all of the wrongdoings and teachings in this child's life, or any others!. Best of luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com well, personally, i dont think it is right for a parent to tell a kid what to believe!. tell them what the facts are, and what you believe, and make sure that they know it is their desicion as to how they think, and in turn, how they act upon them!. i definately dont think a 3 year old would be able to think of that conclusion without someone else telling them what it was (no offense to any 3 year olds) parents should be able to openly state their opinion, but give the child the option of making a different one!. it doesnt matter whether or not it is political!. it is wrong for a parent to tell a child what to believe without giving an unbiased account of the story or facts!. i hope i helped, and i wish you the best of days!!! -AngelWww@QuestionHome@Com Cant blame the child!. Any normal one will repeat what a partent says!. That's one thing new parents learn when their kids begin to speak and can communicate with mannerisms with their body talk!. That is their way of learning how to think and talk!. It isn't right and sometimes it is unintentional!. But if it is intentional then the child is not learning how to think for himself!. One would hope what comes out of a child's mouth is wisdom and not repeated foolishness from an adult!.
