Yes, we (and for that matter, everything made from elements other than hydrogen & helium) are the products of old, exploded stars!. The science is pretty firm there, it is not really a matter of belief!. So what your question really boils down to is how inanimate matter became conscious living matter!. And to answer that will require you to define what exactly consciousness is, and how it works!. Some believe that consciousness is the result of a soul, while others believe that consciousness may actually just be an illusion!. Science seems to support a third option, based on careful analyses of the brain, that consciousness is an entirely physical process!. Assuming that's the case, then consciousness is just another emergent property acquired on the road of evolution to benefit our species!. Neither does stating "Stars have consciousness through us when they become us after their death make it the truth"! I am sure that every living and non living thing is more or less composed of the same material that we are!. Therefore yeah we may be more or less the same composition of "dead stars" and saying they become us after their death sounds rather poetic but is kind of meaningless unless we take the though a bit further!. Say for instance when apples fall to the ground they become the soil!. Do the birds that then nourish from the apples or the worms that ate the apples become the consciousness of an apple!? Do we that ate from the things grown in the soil or the apples a consciousness of the apples!? Yeah in a sense we are all on and originate from the same source or energy which I call God!. So let us go to the beginning and the big bang when God created all!. Then all expanded and formed and we came into consciousness!. We being the energy and source of the God force therefore not only children of God but a consciousness of God!.
