Question: Do you think what you think of yourself is what you think of the world!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
you relate to the world through yourself, and how you interpret the world, is based mainly on how you interpret yourself!. If you think you are ugly and stupid, you will think of the world as a cruel place!. If you can see yourself as beautiful, then the world is wonderful!. This is most likely based on pessimism versus optimism!. If you live to love, then YOUR world is filled with it!. If you hate most things and are constantly critical, you will find mistrust and loathing everyday because you are the source!. It's tough to find a peaceful world when your battling yourself!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Rita -

I think most people (myself included) think they are better than the "world!." I don't mean that in the sense of being egotistical, or self-centered, etc!. I think that the average person still criticizes the world in the sense of "what is the world coming to!?"

I think the vast majority of my friends and family wouldn't dream of robbing another person, lest beat, rape or murder another human being!. Therefore, I think (rightly to my way of thinking) that the vast majority of people in this world are good, honorable and respectfull of other people!. So yes, I honestly believe that the vast majority of people on this planet are similar to me!.
As a counter-weight, can you imagine the state of affairs on this old world, if most people felt the world was a reflection of their own standards and ideas about others!?
I still think that given the law of statistics, we're not in as bad of condition as the media portends!. As our population increases, the number of "evil-doers" decreases, yet our news coverage convinces us that things are gettting worse!. I imagine the world was a pretty harsh place in the 12th century (for example) when might was right, and I'm sure many crimes against other humans were rampant!.
Anyway, the short answer to your question is yes!.

Thanks for a good "thinking" questionWww@QuestionHome@Com

I am not humble enough to answer this question with a negative!. I am only human!. I make mistakes!. I am not a high achiever, nor have I ever been at the head of my class, but, given accurate information that contradicts what I believe, I can change my mind!. That said, I can question what I am supposed to believe!. I can think of counter examples that question what authority tells me is true!. I can say "no" to anything that I can argue against with valid reasoning!. Ultimately, I can speak truth to power and refuse to act in the name of authority!. I can, within my own intellectual capacity, argue against what I see as incoherence and inconsistency, and if, upon rebuttal I am convinced that I am wrong, or at least that I am uninformed, I can change my mind!. This is what I think of myself and I am also convinced that I am a perfectly normal example of our species!. God help us if I am not!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think to a point yes but not all the way!. I don't really think about the world as a whole, but instead in different parts!. I think of myself as a depressing and hopeless, and I view the world the same way, or parts of it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

to a point!.!.!.

i think that it's true that if you're a liar you expect people to lie to you!. the same for other things as well!.!.!.thief - you think that others are thieves!.!.!.and so on!.

i'm pretty tolerant, so it surprises me when someone i know says something totally stupid (imo)!. i don't usually talk religion or politics with family (sisters, cousins, etc!.) for this reason!.
