Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Guilt is a social construction!. We feel guilt when we do something we know society doesn't like us to do!. also, since morality is subjective (someone may believe a pro-choice person is bereft of morality, while others may feel pro-gun rights supporters are bereft of morality), it is not something we can include in the discussion of guilt and society!.

There are people who exist who feel no guilt, sociopaths, who are people who do not understand our society's rules and expectations!. Most learn to fake normal human emotions and expectations (including guilt) and even professionals could not pick them off the street!. However, some choose to ignore social rules and expectations, and these are the really crazy serial killers, rapists etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Guilt is an emotion!. Many animals other than humans show signs of guilt!.

Morality is relative!. It is possible to feel guilty without having committed a moral offense!. Consider how you felt as a child when you learned that meat came from animals, or some similar revelation that made you feel guilty, even though you didn't break any moral code!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

it is not an innate characteristic!. We develop it only because we are molded by our friends and family in their image!. We are not necessarily who we are, we are who soceity makes us!. Customs are passed along!. Certain tribes do morally wrong customs like the Aztecs sacrificing thousands of prisoners to appease their gods!. They do not feel a sense of guilt!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In order to have "guilt" you need to have a learned sense
of right or wrong!.

We learn about what is right and was is wrong
first from the person(s) that raise us from infancy
and then later of course from our teachers, religious leaders,
Mentors, and our society in whole!.

Example: If you grew up in a society that doesn't condemn
suicide as a sin but actually expects it as a last resort
to hold up ones "honor" then you would gladly commit
suicide before you would "shame" your family!.

Just a different perspective of "right" and "wrong"

It is a innate In the Bible it say's I knew before you were formed and it also say's for the believer the Holy Spirit will tell you all things bring your remembrancee back, so the ability to know right from wrong is embedded in us before we born, are parents are guides in this life, even a small child knows to some extent when it is doing wrong!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Guilt manifests itself only after birth!. There are no records of any human surviving without some influence from parents or society, so it's virtually impossible to determine if guilt might also be inate!. A person bereft of morality (has none at all) is not capable of guilt!. We call them sociopaths :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Guilt is simply an addiction and a mechanical reaction brought upon by programming, therefore it cannot exist prior to birth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Many people are made to feel guilty simply because they are perceived to be different!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
