Question: Why should we accept the world we see around us as real!?
More specifically, I was wondering why we should accept our perceptions and assumptions about the world we see around us as real, and trust our experience and accept what science claims to have discovered!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sometimes a question can be answered by another question!. Sometimes that question will be the exact opposite of the original!.

Tell me - why should we not accept it as real!?

Looking at it from another view, we can first define "real"!. What is real!? If you answer me that, then I can judge whether the world we see around us (perceptions, sensations, urges, emotions, etc) fit that category or not!.

You will most probably find that "real" is not defined, because it cannot be defined!. In fact, normally the word "real" applies for what is "the case!."

For example, if angels were "real", we would say: It is the case that there are angels!. In a more eloquent style: Angels are the case!. Or better still: there are angels!.

So, we say something is real if it is there - now, are there "apparent perceptions"!? The answer is yes!. So: Apparent perceptions are the case!. They are there!. They are "real"!.

How do we know they are there!?
Very simple!.
If you see a faint light somewhere that goes on and off, you will start wondering 'whether such a light was real or a figment of your imagination!?'
The fact is, the only way this question could have gotten into your head was if something had triggered it - therefore you must have perceived something!. Therefore the light must have been there!.

Back to the old point: Why not!?
Is there anything else!. The fact that you say "the world we see around us" means that you actually do see something - it might not be real for me or somebody else, but you can be sure that it is real for you!. In fact, this is the best we can all do!.

I hope you're not confused!.
I also hope I was able to clarify the concepts!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should accept that when the stoplight turns red it means to stop because if you don't you won't be around to contemplate this stuff!. There is an objective reality and there are correct ways for man to live on earth!. Most people do not and are not willing to explore them beyond staying physically safe!. One of my favorite things is realizing that something I have always taken for granted as truth, is in reality, a figment of someone else's imagination that I have accepted with little to no thought!. I then take the time to find out why I swallowed it and try to learn the correct way of perceiving it's reality!. It happens a lot actually!.

In reality, as a species we are in our infancy!. It is not in accepting everything as absolute truth that you will find happiness; it is in understanding that we are on a search, a journey that will never end and be open to the possibility of expansion!. Our own perceptions of reality change constantly just as theories in science change constantly and it's this growth that makes me content!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Accept your perceptions and truths with room for growth!.

All of us need a starting point!. You can only get somewhere else if you are somewhere now!. The truths, as we are taught them, are nothing more than a starting point for you to build on!. Most of the scientific 'discoveries' that have happened over the centuries were considered insane or 'unfeasible' at the time of discovery!. Use your own perceptions, prejudices, experiences, and truths to try to build the strongest and happiest future for yourself and your family!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The whole "it's all an illusion" notion doesn't make sense to me!. It's certainly not a useful point of view!.

I accept that I can't sense all of reality!. I know that I don't understand it all!. While I usually trust my own experience it's easy to misinterpret it!. I have made enough mistakes to know that's true!.

Science is evolutionary!. Like personal experience, when it works--it works!. When it doesn't work hopefully someone will find a better answer to the question at hand, or ask a better question!. I accept science when it makes sense to me!. But, like anyone else who hasn't actually done the research and experiments, I can be wrong about what makes sense in the "real" world!.

Trusting my own perceptions and assumptions gives me a sense of control over my life!. That brings me peace of mind!. If my perceptions and assumptions are good enough I'll get to live another day!. When they fail, maybe not!.

Of course there's also stuff that comes out of nowhere!.!.like the day lightening hit the ground outside my house and sent a bolt right through my bedroom!. I learned two things that day: I can't control everything and a short, middle aged woman can jump a queen sized bed!.

It's because our five senses say so, and we just have to trust our senses and our experience!. We are able to accept most of what science has discovered for the sake of our health and safety!. Considering the fact that we are thinking and logical beings, not to accept the reality of life and the existence of the world around us, is just impossible!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

While some "real" things can be debated, you'll only believe as much as you know!. The things our senses pick up on become a building brick within us making everything else, if not irrelevant, much less important!. If I've only known red tomatoes but seeing a blue one will definitely shatter my assumptions and widen my perceptive scope!. However, the presence of spiritual senses can sometimes heighten the impact of these new discoveries!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because there is no choice!. Until you implicitly accept that reality exists, you cannot think or make any sense of what you see, hear, touch or taste!. Nor can you communicate to anyone else about it or anything else!. Just asking that question means you are accepting that there is a reality outside of you!. There is no going back from that first acceptance!. It is the first, necessary assumption!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

We accept them provisionally as real for purposes of continued manifestation on the physical plane (i!.e!. survival!.)

In meditation and deeper consideration, however, we can see beyond the apparency of things and realize that "reality" is more than it appears to our senses!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You shouldn't because none of this is real!. It's just an illusion pieced together by our weak senses!. There is nothing around you and you don't exist!. You aren't even reading this right now!.

Existentialism- There is no truth, only action!Www@QuestionHome@Com

We can accept it, but don't have to be content with it as being complete!. Science has always evolved, and will continue to evolve!. All our progressions came about by standing on the edge of where science sits and looking beyond!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That is the question that the DVD (Film) "What the Bleep, do we Know!?" tries to answer!. And the moment you understand, let me know!.
I've watched it 4 times and still "something" evades me!
Peace!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Trust what you feel is right for you; that fits YOUR perception of reality, which may include some scientific discoverires, a few or none at all!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, alternatively, you can always live in a fantasy world!. Many people do, it seems!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Is there another way!? More importantly it is, what is not seen that is more important!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because we are all part of the same perception who leads us into the real exam after we come out from the nonsense!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you are madWww@QuestionHome@Com

Very good point i have no clue why we should accept it!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

You need to wake up and get real!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Life is an illusion, but it's all we can understand with just our 5 senses!. There's alot more to life than what we know!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
