Question: Is it necessary to sacrifice self-respect in order to have companionship!?
I have had little luck in life when it comes to friendships or romantic relationships!. It seems that, whenever I make a friend(s) or have a romantic interest in someone, eventually, they will always try to "put me in my place" and by place, it is always beneath them, whether by ridicule or spreading malicious rumors!.

Is this a common thing!? I am wondering how common this is!. It's really getting me down!. I can't seem to rely on anyone to be considerate and respectful!.

Has anyone had better luck!? I guess I am looking for a sign of hope!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Luck has very little to do with finding the right people
whom are compatible to you!. Chances are, the way an
individual behaves around you towards others!.!.this is how
they will behave around others towards you!. It's all about
the persona!. If gossiping; spreading rumors and saying
ugly/nasty things about people is a big part of their character trait
then you can best believe that this is a huge hint as to the nature of their true personality!.

You have to learn to evaluate people!. Do their actions line-up with their words!? Do they suffer from low self-esteem!? If so, then they will do whatever in their powers to, "put you in your place"!. See, they need you to be beneath them in order for them to feel better about themselves!.

Unfortunately, yes!.!.this has become a very common thing!. However,
don't misconstrue; this type of thing has always been around, it's just that people are getting bolder with it nowadays!. Don't shop for dogs
at a hog farm!. Looks can deceive you!.

Yes, I've been blessed in both departments: I have wonderful friends
and a remarkable wife!. I've made my share of mistakes along the way,
but it takes trials and errors before we're able to create a learning experience that's effective!. Of course, no relationship and friendships
are perfect!. We all give and take; however, we never, ever sacrifice
even one grain, once drop, one speck of self-respect!.!.ever!. Once you lose your self-respect you become one of them!. Stay who you are;
and if anything!.!.raise the bar and have them come up to your level!.

Keep your chin and hopes up! You're probably one of those guys considered too nice and people're taking an advantage of your kindness!. While maintaining your congenial personality, you need to have some backbone!. People respect those who are sure of themselves without being cocky!.

You have so much to give but if you sacrifice your self-respect in order to gain a relationship, you'll end up losing everything—including your self worth as a person!. Be confident in who you are and speak your mind!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The people that we surround ourselves in our lives tells alot about yourself!. So maybe you should look deeper in you, If you think its a "problem"!. For me personally I have very few friends (by choice) and in a great relationship, I pretty much don't spread myself thin and give what I want and have never been put in a position where I need to sacrifice anything, we all make choices of who we allow in our lives!. You can be miserable alone or miserable with another, there is no need to abuse yourself!.

I dont know if that makes any sense or helps but I hope it does :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is human nature to proted ego, this is why people do that!. personally, i have noticed that from many people as well!. I made a thing in my life, if someone is going to be like that to me, then they dont need to know what goes on in my life!.

That is not your place, no one is worth being rude to or being put down!. People who do that have huge insecurities!. They feel better, by putting other people down!. What you need to do is, ignore that, stop telling those people all that goes on in your life, and walk your own way!. Or else you will always feel like crap!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Self respect is more important than companionship!.

Be diplomatic!. Use your ears more than your mouth!. Be selective!. There are good and bad people!. Friends and foes are made by our own dealings with them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No true friend or worthy lover would ever "put you in your place"!. Keep looking, you'll find someone!.!.!.really:-)Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!. The reverse is the true answer!.

It is in a way a paradox!.!.!.!.
To get people to respect you!.!.!.!. you must first respect yourself!.

How long to you think any relationship is going to last with a cancerous building component!.!.!.!. in this case, lack of respect, self or otherwise!

Any person, for any reason, that uses disrespect in any form needs serious counseling before they enter into any relationship!. If they must degrade, demean, belittle, make you appear beneath them by ridicule or malicious rumors, disrespect their partner, friend, family, business colleagues, etc!., in order to control etc!., does not deserve a decent companion to abuse in this fashion!.

In the final analysis!.!.!.!. you get what you negotiate!. Do not sell yourself short!. Do not cast your pearls upon swine!.

I respectfully suggest that if you would like to meet a kindred spirit that you join a college and study your favorite subject and God willing you will place yourself in a position to meet your own kind!.!.!. kindred spirit!.!.!.!. and for starters you will both have something in common!

Do not stop there, however, continue along those lines!.!.!.!.
i!.e!. take up dancing lessons, great exercise, and hopefully again, you will meet a kindred spirit!. If not, enjoy the exercise and keep moving along until you find what you are looking for!. The battle cry is NEXT!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
