Yep!. Some people are psychic vampires and sap energy from you slowly over time!. Then your body rebels with a disease of its own!. It's very subtle!. Other people have dark vibrations, toxic emotions that pervade the environment which affect others on a subconscious level!. Sensitive people sense this and if they have the courage they put an end to it or say goodbye!. Others that don't stand up eventually get affected and infected by the negative energy!.

Young children are very susceptible to misery in their environment!. They soak up things like a sponge!. Teachers can pick out the kids that come from a miserable environment!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is a truly miserable person that I know who wants to be my friend - calls me regularly, wants to meet up - but I just can't take her misery!. I mean, she has had some bad things happen to her in her life, but if it's a competition, I've had a lot worse happen to me!. When she calls, she is always overemotional and cries and whines and moans!. I try to be upbeat about my stuff and I certainly don't share it with people I barely know!. After a phone call from her I am always in a bad mood and feel exhausted and totally bummed out!. If emotional states are a disease, then she is terminal and intent on infecting the rest of the world!. And death would be infinitely preferable to a lifetime of calls from miseryguts!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't know about dying from someone else's misery!. Personally I have no fear of that and when I am in that situation I or we confront it so that it does not have any ability to destroy our relationship!.

I suppose it is our way to avoid the infection of emotional disease!. And we both know that love is both enduring and healing to the one we are committed to for life!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Whatever one may say there are some fundamental diffeneces in our emotional quotient depending upon who that "someone " is!. Our spouse , our children and our parents and siblings !.!.!. our close friends these are the few people in our lives whose misery affects us emotionally!. On an average it will be a few people in each of our lives, 5 or 6 !. That is all!. For the rest of the people our response to their misery is not very infectious!. Many cannot believe this but it is true!.
If you see an accident there is this instant feeling of sadness about the victim but , instantly a fear as to what if this victim had been someone in my list of close people!. Thank God it is not so and so !.
So, fundamentally we donot die from someone else`s misery but humans assiciate such miseries with people who count in our lives!. Sad but true!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not sure, becos even though you may feel extremely bad when someone close to you is hurting, you still can't feel exactly what they're feeling!. I know you can die from your own misery though, stress, annoyance, anger!. Obviously they would have to be in hugh quantities though, but it has been known!. Its kinda the classic "dying from a broken heart" syndrome!. You feel so bad within yourself that eventually your body closes down!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

absolutely!. I don't know if it's fatal, but I endure the company of whiner's and complainers all the time (in-laws) and it definitely drags you down hearing nothing but negativity all the time!. I may be crazy, but I believe that the negativity in one's self may manifest itself physically!. With that said I don't think the most empathetic human alive is gonna get much more than a tummy ache over someone else's misery!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Emotions are extremely contagious!. Empathy is good but too much can be counter-productive, unable to pull others out of their misery and getting bogged down yourself!. That is the reason children are kept away from watching certain situations because they are immature to handle them and can be scarred for life!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes it is!. You often here of stories about old couples and when one of the passes away shortly after so does the other!.

When someone you love has been apart of your life for so long and then have them taken away from you I assume you could easily lose your
will to live!.

It's a proven medical fact that depression, anxiety, stress, etc can shorten your life span!.

Misery is just like any other disease!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Only if they decide that life is not worth living but they want to take as many as they can with them and you are around!.

Wrong place at the wrong time!. You are perhaps only a child, or elderly and cannot defend yourself etc!.

As for infectious, that is a big no!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I may live with someone's misery!.!.I will do my best to fill the hope of healing together from whatever have might cause someone I care for with that misery!. Emotional states being experienced are very human, It can only possibly be infectious emotionally or psychologically when out of control so frequently!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
