Question: Wealthy-Healthy-Wise-Brave, all pray 'FROM GOD' for Health-Wealth-Wisdom!.Have ever prayed same 'FOR GOD'!? !?

Great question!

My immediate reaction is, if you believe that God is omnipotent and all-knowing, where is the danger that he could ever lack anything of any kind!? Isn't praying for God's well-being kind of a waste of effort!? Like praying that I'll pray today!? What would be the point!?

On the other hand: Bill W!., co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous argues that we should never pray for God to give us gifts for ourselves!. We should ask God to bless others in our lives (especially our enemies; the people we resent)!. In Bill's view, are only entitled to ask God to give to us if the gift we request is for the purpose of serving others--God, please take my flu away so I can go to work and take care of my family!. That sort of thing!. Now, if you believe in the biblical scripture that says, "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me" (Matthew 25:40), then every time I pray for God's blessings on others, I am praying for God to be blessed!.

Another thought: A huge part of prayer is praise: Celebrating and appreciating God for the gifts that we receive!. I would classify this also as praying "for God", in the sense that I am praying with the purpose of appreciating God, making God feel good!.

I'm glad you asked!. I think that I probably don't quite achieve Bill W!.'s ideal in my own prayer life, and perhaps I could be more thoughtful of giving as I pray!.

My brother human being is selfish creature,he will always do acts for some intrests

1 when we go to temple or any religious place we pray to god and ask for job,to get good marks etc,so there is a selfish intrest behind that!.

2 when someone do dontation than there is a selfish intrest that,i will get good name,there are some humans who do secret donations but they had also some intrest like god will became happy there destiny will became good!.

3 though my brother there are some yogis or saints who not desire wealth or pleasure etc but there aim is to realise god and to get union with god what we call moksha!.

but there is also a intrest to get moksha,for profit,so there is a intrest behind every human act

actually we love only ourself our desires are attach with other humans,if they fullfill our desire than we became happy if not we hate them!.

i just want to say you,god never do anything,it is karmic law,there are many humans who never pray to god,but do hard work in there life,help others,so god had made a law of karama,as you will do ,you will get,so there is no need to worship god,and if by giving prasad of 10 rs and by worshiping him,god forgive your sins,than god is biggest dalal{dealer},greedy and dirty substance,so god had made a system according to which this universe run!.

When I was a child and taught how to pray at church,it was always to help others!.
EG: Pray for world peace,droughts to end,helping someone who is sick etc etc!.
Now people pray for personal wealth,a better job,a better car or house!.
I no longer believe in fairies at the bottom of the garden or Father Christmas!.The same applies to some other all powerful so called Diety!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
