When we say destroy, we often mean functionally destroyed!. E!.g!. when the computer is in pieces, it stops being a computer and becomes dissembled parts and hence destroyed!. Scientists are still working on E=MC ^ 2 - to make it 100% efficient for matter / antimatter reaction!. Even when they are successful, the reaction is still creating energy which could be turned back into matter and antimatter!. So "destroy" really means conversion between different states of existence - matter, antimatter and energy!. It is often said that soul / spirit could not be destroyed!.
