Question: Which is more important when it comes to solving the world's problems!? Unity or education!?
This is my opinion on the topic!. I would like to hear from those who support unity!.

Although the concept of unity, of undivided togetherness, love, and acceptance sounds like a good thing, I feel that it is not necessarily deserving of all the praise and esteem it receives!. The positive aspect of unity is that people learn to accept each other’s differences and love each other!. The negative aspect of unity, which in my opinion nearly cancels out the positive aspect, is that it makes change hard to come by!. If there had been unity between all religions, would the Pilgrims ever rebelled against the king, left England, and founded the colonies!? No!. If there had been unity in thought, would Christopher Columbus ever have risked being deemed crazy and claimed that the Earth was round!? No!. If there had been unity in science, would Galileo have dared to speak up and say that the Earth was not the center of the universe!? No!. Conflict is sparked by new beliefs, and new beliefs are necessary for the progression of civilization, therefore conflict is essential and unavoidable for society to move onward!. It is always better for people to doubt others and lead their minds to conjure new ideas than to accept and not seek change!. This doubt may make unity harder to achieve, but it will allow advancement!. Unity leads to an idleness of the mind because the purpose of unity is to avoid conflict and therefore avoid change!.

I feel that rather than unity, education is the solution to the problems you and I see in the world today!. Instead of trying to bring people together in one big, loving group, education allows people to see that humans have differences and conflict is inescapable!. Education teaches people that although disagreeing is unpleasant, it is necessary for change!. Education teaches people that variety is the spice of life and that the fact that everybody is different means that everybody has a unique contribution to make to the world!. Education can stop deforestation, poverty, AIDS, racism, sexism, human rights issues, global warming, and every other world problem!. Solid, world-wide education is the key to solving these problems!.

I am interested in hearing from the opposing point of view!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I respectfully disagree!. You have certainly presented thoughtful and valid points, but I don't think that unity necessarily mandates uniformity!. I believe that education, while certainly necessary in formulating propable ideas for change in improvement, may serve as a barrier in some cases!. People will use their education in order to claim that their idea is better, and no compromise is possible!. When you have unity, you may have differing opinions, but the goal of change will enable individuals to consider other points of view and create solutions with as many differing points of view, to satisfy as many differing situations, as possible!. Again, my argument is based on the fact that unity doesn't mandate uniformity!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Unity is essential to peace!. If you love people, they will draw near you--you will have no difficulty in winning them!.

As we post we are experiencing what the lack of unity will bring us!. Our political or administrative form of a government is of little consequence provided it affords the essentials of civil progress--liberty, security, education, and social co-ordination!. It is not what a state is but what it does that determines the course of social evolution!. And after all, no state can transcend the moral values of its citizenry as exemplified in their chosen leaders!. Ignorance and selfishness will insure the downfall of even the highest type of government!.

So this bring us to education!. We have failed to teach the essentials of Unity, The United States Of America!.

The only education of true value is the teachings of Jesus about unity, The Brotherhood of man founded on the Fatherhood of God!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ultimate objective is solving worlds problems, in other words peace and harmony!. Of course it is debatable which either unity or education is more important, the fact is these both are necessary components, not a tool to yield an outcome!.

The concept of unity is a lot easier to grasp, but education is completely subjective!. 'Education' contains many different fields, what do we learn and for what purpose!. There are many subjects, Science, Arts, Archeology, Theology, Mathematics, Sociology etc!.

Ultimately our outcome is a 'goal' that we need peace!. So we have the destination but still looking for how to get there!. Then we simply must consider what is it that is hindering our desire for peace!. Of course only when we have peace & harmony that we can solve all the problems facing us!. It is also clear that it us that are part of the problem!.

The fundamental requirement is 'unity', as only when there is one clear outcome, one clear destination, that we can look and strive for that!. Education will have no impact unless there is an outcome!. What is the purpose of the education, to teach us and help us understand why there is a need for harmony!. We can only do that once we have a clear outcome in mind, which is simply impossible without unity!. All minds must come together to strive for one common outcome!.

Once we have an outcome we will teach and learn ie education!. We would try to understand what is causing all these problems, and what do we do about it!. We will implement plans, we will carry out those plans!. We will all contribute our understanding and education towards one common goal, world peace!

A common goal would automatically result in 'education'!. Once we want something we will automatically try to learn and figure out, how to get what is it that we want!. Education will become a simple necessity!.

Education without a common goal or unity is like, each individual trying to pull a car in each different direction!. Each individual using all their strength but car not moving an inch!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think resources cause conflict and in reality create or destroy peoples willingness to listen to education!. People will be purposely ignorant if the information available doesnt suit them!. It can be seen in books like Mein Kampf that people can invent webs of ignorance and with the right societal ingredients it this miseducation can spread like wildfire!. also not all conflict can be solved through debate!. In Aparthied South Africa a solid white middle class resisted black people getting resources not because they were convinced by debate but becuase they had priliges to lose!. In all cases the vital ingredient is ineqaulity and lack of resources!. While i agree that strife is the mother of all things i still believe that power and resource inequalities would have to be adressed before any peace making education could be adressedWww@QuestionHome@Com

Unity and education is a unification of ideals and lfe that can't be divided!. Both need each other!. i personally believe in intelligent design!. Our actions create a reaction!. I believe that human life has a circle reaction!. Look into history!. When you divide a circle you create chaos and the harmony is disrupted!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
