The obvious answer to your question is, if we knew their answers, we wouldn't need to ask the questions!. But perhaps you are thinking of questions we ask, even though we can never know the answers!. Levoy's answer to that question is one of the most profound I've ever seen!. Essentially, it suggests that even though we can never know the answers to many questions we ask, the process of asking them, of searching for the answers, of worrying over them and getting frustrated with them and giving up on them and coming back to them again--all of this experience gives us something important!. It helps us to understand life, ourselves, each other, whatever!. Bet we keep on asking, because we get something out of it!.
