The advantage I think is like this!.!.

In a different way one can look at this at day time and between our normal interactions with humans we can interact with animals that love us without any conditions or criticism!. We can even talk to plants should we so choose!.

They are as necessary to our conscious world in the daytime as the dream state is necessary for brain activity at the subconscious level at night!.

The advantage is that animals are very connected to the fundamentals of life!. A lion for example could not sustain the absurd concept that violence is inherently evil!.

The disadvantage is that by human measures most animals a blazing stupid!. Pick the MOST retarded person you know, double the dumbness and you have the smartest animal!.

So while animals are great glimpses of pure nature, their wisdom will be Zen, not analytical!. They lack the human capacity to create tools as needed!. The man-beast while formidable in a one on one scenario rapidly falls to the sophistication of human collectivism!.

one advantage is that you realize that animals also have feelings and that we, humans, are only a step above them in the general foodchain!. another advantage is that you are reverencing God by realizing that He/She made all living creatures!. Talk to as many living beings as you can!. the one and only disadvantage is that people will say that you are weird, but i get angry when people call a unique person weird!. what is normal, anyway!? and why should anyone categorize others like that as if they are the model creature!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

As a pet owner, I dont think it is a silly question!.
When you talk to your pets,

1!. You acknowledge their presence, hence they feel affirmed, respected and part of your life!.

2!. Because you are doing # 1, they know you are making an effort to include them in your life, hence they include you in their lives as well!.

3!. They become better behaved, know their place in your home, and tend to protect it better than when you act as if they are furniture!.

4!. Everybody is happier!. including you!. When they "talk" back, you instincttively know that they want to tell you something, so you get better at finding out what they thibk you should investigate!. It can save both your lives!. (YOU AND PET)

Disadvantages
1!. If you care about their opinions, one of the neighbors might think you are loony!.

2!. You start to pick up "thoughts" from other dogs, and pretty soon the world will be inundated with "dog whisperers" and "cat whisperers" etc!.

I talk to my animals because nobody else wants to listen to me!. Everyone else too busy, but they not and they listen to me!.

The disadvantage is that I am missing out on human relationships but how can you have relationships with people who are too busy to listen!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
