I was going to answer, but I am incapable of "colorful analogies and descriptions that create a sense of tangibility!." I write in black-and-white terminology!.

I think you are looking a gift horse in the mouth when you exclude certain types of answers!. However, there is a permanent block of text on my website that may contain what you are looking for!. Look in the bottom of the left hand column!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Why use analogies when you have empirical observations that illustrate the tangible qualities of time!.
The constant speed of light offers one the perfect example!.
The reason light is always measured as a constant speed regardless of relative motion is because it does not traverse the dimension of time!.
The less velocity an object has in relation to spatial dimensions the more it is exposed to traversing the dimension of time!.
The less constant velocity you have through spatial dimensions the more you move through the temporal dimension!.
This has been observed and the consequences are still debated to this day!.
The classical notion of absolute objective time and space have undergone a radical revision in the form of relativistic theory courtesy of that peculiar genius by the name of Einstein!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Time is simply a running count of physical interactions at the Planck-level of reality!. By itself it does not exist, it is merely a scoreboard for observations!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
