Question: Could our existence be based on dichotomy and conflict!?
This is derived from the notion of matter and anti matter, heat and coolness coming together to create an atmosphere, as well as energy!. It seems our lives can be summed up by the number line, with 0 being the balance of a negative and positive existence!. It is said that empty space consists of molecules rapidly destroying each other and forming again!. So it would take the opposite of something to validate the existence of the other!. It seems this law of opposition and balance can be applied to anything; after all, would we know what light was without the presence of darkness!. And pertaining to emotion, as Jung himself once said, would happiness be recognized or appreciated without the experience os sadness!? Heigel also summed this up in his theory of self consciousness and looking to our relationships with others to validate our own sense of self!. For example, a persons intelligence might really be noticed if it were to be juxtaposed to one who is intelectually challanged, etc!. Could this also indicate the importance of diversity!? And could this same law apply to everything in the universe as it seems!? And if our existence is governed by such laws, and is not random, could this also suggest a superior intelligence at its very foundation!?

You are on the right track of thinking, but using the wrong sources--and making a bigger deal of it than is necessary because of the sources you use!.

Without conflict, life could not exist!. Conflict is the necessity of plants evolving to bear seeds so that animals who eat the plants can spread those seeds!. The conflict is: how does a plant get spread with nothing to spread it!?

In the life of man, the conflict is such as this: how does a man make a piece of metal into a door knocker!. How does he learn to cultivate so that he does not need to migrate looking for food!. How does he discipline one too-young child for following the example of an older sibling who is not too young to do what he/she did!?

Dichotomies are different!. Dichotomies CREATE conflict where none existed!. Men can live without dichotomies, but they actually give us a conflict to resolve, which in the end leave us better off!. But that is like hitting one'self in the thumb to relieve the pain in your foot!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not a chance!. It is based strictly on science!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
