Millions of people around the world are starving, being genocided and contracting diseases like AIDS and being left to rot and die!. Many of these people are in the United States!. Feeling sorry for the poor is an easier emotion than caring and trying to do something about it!.

I guess they think if they won't feel sorry for them, then they won't be a normal person!. I mean, they don't think they ever will get out on the streets of India or Africa and actually devote their lives to ending poverty (we're talking about the majority hear) so they fall back on feeling sorry!.
Honestly, I think it is just an inhumane thing to do!. We are all int his world together!. We get what we work for!. And no one is superior to any other human being (no matter how much people think they are)!.!.!.so really, you don't have any right to feel sorry for another person!. What you can do is help them!. And if maybe not in a huge way, then at least try to cheer that person up!. Give them a smile that'll last awhile!.!.!.trust me!.!.!.it even beats giving them a million bucks! Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's one of the basic human emotions: empathy!. As social animals, it makes us feel better when we can identify with those of us who are in pain and try to help them somehow!. Evolutionarily, it has proven to be quite successful as far the society is concerned, but highly individualistic (or egotistical) people prefer to ignore it because it interferes with their ambitions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

imagine if you were that poor person!. You would be hungry, cold, thirsty!. So i suppose it makes you think how good your life is compared to what it could be like, therefore you feel sorry for them, because you have something they dont!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
