Interesting question!

All of the above!. Remember the story "Pinocchio" when we were still a young child!. Lying makes your nose go longer!. So the moral story is lying is bad!. Lying doesn't make a person do good!. For the Christians, it is considered a menial sin!. It is a sign of weakness too for you cannot survive in truth!. In truth, there is the true foundation of goodness!.

Thanks for asking!. Have a great day!!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

We dislike lying because it is against the nature!. It is natural urge of every person to lead a fair, straightforward, friendly and cordial life!. Only when we lead a clear life, we can feel the inner happiness and peace!.

Some people go on lying!. They have made it their past time!. Such people definitely lead a miserable life!. They would be seeing bad omen and horrible future!. I have seen people lie for no reason!. Just like that!. It is their hobby to lie!.

Lying is opposite!. Telling the truth is positive!. We should always lead a positive life!. Positive life leads to positive thinking!. Positive thinking bring more and more success besides happiness!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think human beings basically are very insecure!. And lies add to our uncertainties, and the sense of insecurity!. With lies one doesn't know what to believe, or where one stands!. It is to minimise our all pervasive insecurity that we give things a shading of 'right' or 'wrong' and 'moral' or 'immoral'!. Remember, human relationships and even society cannot function if there is no trust between people, and everyone is paranoid or suspicious of the others, because they may be lying!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I dislike being lied *to* because life is easier, more rewarding, and more fulfilling if I have people I can trust for information!. If somebody is misinforming me, especially deliberately, the consequences are negative!. I need people I can trust; I do not need those who would deceive me!.

I dislike lying because I value the people that I counsel!. If they don't trust me, I can't help them!. If they don't succeed in their tasks because they rejected my help on the basis of mistrust, I'm not going to be happy!. I want to help the people I care about, and I want them to be able to lean on me in hard times!. They are ill-served by deception on my part!.

Will tease people I like and occassionally play a trick by a little lie!? Sure!. But, the lie is revealed soon, and the intentions are obviously not malevolent!. They always understand that the tricks are harmless, and that I won't lie when they need me to give actual counsel!.

They don't always like what they hear, but the fact that I'm being straight forward is beyond question!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Lying is part of the fabric of society at many different levels!. Churchill said that in wartime truth is so precious that it must always be accompanied by a phalanx of lies!. We expect pols running for office to lie to us - in fact we punish them if they don't; Fritz Mondale, running for POTUS against Reagan, said that he would, if elected, increase taxes!. Well, he ended up as ambassador to Japan!. We know perfectly well that both Obama and McCain say things they know to be untrue; to his credit, McCain looks distinctly uncomfortable when he does so, but we expect it of them and know that lots of campaign promises will be ditched with alacrity when the voting's done!. And even in our daily life we frequently avoid the truth, and a good thing too, otherwise how would you respond to "Does this dress make me look fat!?"
So, don't knock the judiciously applied lie!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Lying is another form of cheating which can be controlled by a bit of self-control and awareness on our part!. After retiring from the job my life has changed drastically and I don't get to meet as many people as before!. One thing I have noticed that I have hardly any occasion to lie about!. I think it is the easiest thing to stop lying but what I find hardest is bad thoughts and anger!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because it breaks down trust!.!.deception weakens a relationship and lack of trust causes people to have less faith in one another!. A lie, for any reason, is a poison that can potential kill a relationship!.!.!.think of the long term damage before you lie!.!.!.!.if the lie is discovered what will the repercusions be!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

Telling falsehoods is an inability usually born of cowardice to speak truth!. It is preferable to abstain and remain silent than to lie and mislead!.

Interpersonal relationships are built upon faith and trust!. If one is suspicious of anothers truthfulness then there is really no point or purpose talking to one who deceives or lies!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

because it never feels good to look at a person and blurt out something that you know is not true!.!. and more often than not, if the person found out about you lying, it's very likely the lie would make the other person either really mad or really sad, and in turn, makes you feel insanely guilty and wishing you hadn't lied in the first place Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because it is a betrayal of the basic bonds between human beings!. Society as a whole absolutely could NOT exist if people weren't allowed to expect certain basic decencies from perfect strangers!. Lying negates all of that - and it would turn every stranger into a potential threat instead of a potential community member!.

We're kind of almost already there - aren't we!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think it may have to do with the fear of betrayal ultimately!. It also means that we lose control!. If you believe the lie then it puts you at a disadvantage!. It's a false relationship!. Security and stability are rocked!.

edit: I disagree with LincolnPa!. I don't think humans tend to avoid heartaches!. If so then a lot of people would not bother falling in love or having crushes!. No one likes heartaches but there are lot of things in life we don't like!. It's not about that!. It just is how it is!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For me it is the guilt which follows!. Even if it is a 'small' lie I then play over and over in my mind what I said and it torments me!. There may be no consequences of the lie itself but it's just being dishonest I find difficult because I think it is always best to be honest with people!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Lying makes you feel guilty if you are a normal person!.

Guilt is a very negative emotion, and we can't control the way guilt feels!. It can even affect us physically sometimes and cause discomfort!.

Unless you're a psychopath!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

We dislike it not because it's wrong or a sin, or a sign of weakness but because it is not the truth!. It can lead to a lot unnecessary actions, waste time, strain relationships, etc!. Basically lying is a pain in the a$$ Www@QuestionHome@Com

You got it wrong!. ninety nine point nine percent of people lie!. Because most of them are scared of the truth or want to appear better as what they in reallity are!. Just now someone will think 'bad' of me!
Totally born out of an ego full of fear!.
Peace!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's a sign sin!. Nobody says I am now going to lie to you, unless they are lawyers or politiciansand expect the audience to stick around!. So they don't put up a sign about their sin!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Trust is important in ANY relationship, lovers, friends, and even business relationships!. We can be honest our entire lives but one big lie will be remembered the most and our credibility is forever stained!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

for me personally, if someone lies to me, it's as if i they have decided that i am not 'worthy' of knowing the truth, like they don't trust me!. That's why i don't like lying!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

we dislike lying as our conscious doesnt approves it as our conscience doesnot allows it!. Lying goes against morally which hurts any human being henceforth!.
Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because sooner or later it's gonna lead to bad consequences, beside humans tend to avoid heartaches!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
