Well that begs the question: would the poor man be happier finding the 100 dollars!? Then again, why won't a rich man be happy finding anything - 1 dollar or a hundred!? I think it's the sort of insidious Victorian mentality which implies that the poor should be happy with ANYTHING they can get!. That's nonsense! It was a nice way of keeping people in their place - and promising them heaven for not asserting their rights as human beings in this life!. My guess is this: The poor man has no money, so when he finds a one dollar bill, he is happy!. When the rich man finds a hundred dollar bill, he is still unhappy because he has millions of hundred dollar bills!. I would rather be the poor guy!. I assume "poor" means homeless in this instance!. So if I was homeless and I found one little dollar, it would make my day, I would be ecstatic!.
