Well shame on you however since I myself am the world first class procrastinator of all time!. You still have several weeks until school I suppose!. By the way I think you describe your ignorance of it as rather humorous however I do have a flying pig thank you very much!

Both are beginning books in their respective testaments of the Christian bible!. Genesis is the first book in the Old Testament and Matthew is the first book in the New Testament!. At first you would not think the books are related in any way!. But they truly are!.

Genesis talks about God existing before any physical reality ever did like our universe and all that is inside the galaxies and our earth as well!. And he created man and woman as both a physical and spiritual being!. And efverything God created was gooeverythingct!. And he gave man rules of conduct to live by!. And he only had one "don't do law"!. Don't eat of the tree of knowledge!. That was it!. Then the bible speaks of another being called a snake but who was really the devil!. And he convicned Adam and Eve to disobey God's one law or sinned against God then man became separated spiritually from God!. That was the spiritual separation or spiritual death that God told Adam and Eve what was to happen to them!. You see Satan was already dead or seperated from God already but he lied to Adam and Eve and caused them to be just as evil as he was also through disobeying God!. So God killed an innocent animal (some say lamb) as a spiritual atonement or replacement for man!. Then God said to the woman that "the seed of her would bruise the head of the snake"!. This was a prophecy that would point to a new agreement or New Testament with God and man!.

Well the entire Old Testament is about ames of people and places who are descendants of man's first parents Adam and Eve!. But from their descendants would be that one person who is the liberator of sin that God talked about that would allow man to come clean with God again!. And all of that is finally fulfilled in the New Testament with the birth of Jesus Christ!. Matthew's geneology of Joseph goes all the way to Abraham But Luke 3 goes all the way past Noah all the way to Adam!.

So the Old Testament required an innocent animal to be the sarafice for sin!. But God was looking for the perfect human sacrafice for sin!. And there was none!. No human being could do that!. Only one perfect being is God who was a spirit!. But he gave up his place in heaven to become a man so that one day he would be as a perfect man the perfect sacrafice for sin that God required!.

Matthews gospel shows that Jesus was God in the flesh in the words that he taught!. The authority that he used to condemn the rleigous leaders of their hypocrisy!. Jesus forgave sinners!. Jesus healed the sick and lame and blind man!. Jesus freed men from troublesome evil spirits!. Another way you can think of Jesus's mieracles is that doctors and thier medicine was not advanced!. So God as a human bing had vmercy on the sick and affleicted and healed them!. God is not against medicne and wants to heal people!. But he gave man the intelligence to learn ways to heal himself but all that was way in the future to our time!. Many things that Jesus did then we can do now!. But in those days man did not have knowled of all that!.

So Matthew talks about his birth and his works!. But most importantly it talks about that one act of sacrafice for sin that God had required back in Genesis!. "The seed of the woman would bruise the ehad of the serpent"!. And Jesus Christ did that when he sacrfaficed his perfect life for man!. Man could trade all his evil worhtless sinful life for a clean life at any time if he chose to!. That was what God wants man to do!. So that by doing so they could be free with God for all eternity!. They could have the same kind of relationship that Adam and Eve had with God before they sinned!.

That is what Genesis and Matthew is all about!. also please do send emails to some of the posters here for other questions about this!. I will not mention any of this to my flying pig so he will not be offended!. Do you know how hard it is to get away from the ceiling!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wow, you should have done your homework, there's no way that anyone could possibly explain all the things you'd need/want to know about the book of Genesis and the gospel of Matthew!. Umm, here are a few things though: Genesis has the Creation stories (yes, stories -there are two, although you might have only heard about the Adam and Eve one) and the covenant with Abraham!. It also has many other stories - many are important to analyze, some are not and some are good and heart-warming stories, but most are not (in my opinion)!.

As for Matthew, it is one of the four gospels accepted into the canon!. The canon is the official list of books of the bible!. There are other gospels and other books that didn't make it in, and different Christian groups accept different books!. Roman Catholics accept some books that Protestants don't, and Orthodox have others that Roman Catholics don't have!. The author of Matthew (I think most scholars believe that the apostle Matthew didn't actually write the gospel, someone else did and he/they just used his name!. Note, using a pseudonym was a common practice during this time) was writing to a Jewish audience, as compared to Luke, who was writing to a Gentile audience!. The author of Matthew tries to prove that Jesus was the prophesied Messiah!. Finally, Matthew is one of the three Synoptic gospels!. The synoptic gospels are Matthew, Mark, and Luke!. The name comes from the Greek syn- together and opsis appearance) because they can be compared column by column with each other!. The synoptics also have a low Christology (emphasizing Jesus' humanity) as compared to the Gospel of John, which has high Christology (ephasizing Jesus' divinity)!.

So that's that!. But really, there is sooo much more, you really should have read! Even if you are not Christian, you can read the bible from as a close read, and it's really interesting to do it that way!. Good luck!.!.!.!. because if you have a test on this and you didn't read at all you are going to need it!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I guess you attend a Christian school of some sort; no public school would assign that for fear of retaliation from atheist or agnostic parents or groups!. And if you do attend a Christian school, I'm shocked you don't know Genesis or Matthew!. Basically, Genesis describes the creation of the Earth and all its inhabitants, the fall of man and woman from grace by seduction perpetrated by Satan, and the continuing growth of the human race!. Matthew describes man's means for salvation from the fall from grace in the form of Jesus Christ and his death, whereupon he burdened himself willingly with the sins of all the world and died so the sins would die with him!. Matthew details some of the life of Christ and his teachings, and the lives of his followers, the leaders and establishers of the first Christian churches!. There are hundreds of thousands of details; you really should read these yourself!. I suggest a Living Bible or one written in modern language!. The story will make more sense and you will understand it much better, and it will capture your interest more fully!. The Bible contains the greatest stories ever written; even if you are not Christian, they make for fantastic reading!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
