It's the complete opposite of being carefree!. You only care about the things the 'truly matter' and not the things that many people think matter!. One thing to remember about enlightenment is that it's not like steps where you jump from one level up to the next!. It's more like a ramp where the elevation comes gradually (so gradually that you might not even notice the change, which makes it important to stay determined)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I don't think there's any absolute definition of "enlightenment", it's going to vary from person to person!.!. but my interpretation of it is, achieving a state of non-commitance to the material world!. in other words, you're thinking and living on a higher level, where the physical reality is just one of the many realities you are experiencing!. it's a spiritual and religious and emotional awakening!. you forgo your dependencies and insecurities and attachments to anything human-made, and embrace the world as it really is!. I have antennas that warn me away from controlled spiritual progress, so I looked for a system that gives you all the truth up front and then helps you implement it in your life until you say, "OK, I've got it!." Until a person is enlightened he/she cannot grasp this reality (i!.e Atheists, they are totally spiritually blind and unenlightened and just cannot accept that God exists!.) But there can be many levels of enlightenment!. In a sense once you discover the Truth and the loving nature of God, you can experience a sense of being carefree but being carefree in itself is not enlightenment!. As to how you reach it, there are many paths, the ways of the Ascendent Masters, which will only get you so far!. but only one way that will get you "all the way" back to the Source!.
