By "inner", I assume you mean within oneself!. If I find myself leaning towards "self-hate" or being fed up with myself over something, I try to actively list some positives to remind myself that even though I can be a jerk, sometimes, I'm not a jerk all the time!. Ha!!.!.!.that may be an unprofessional way to describe guilt, but it's what came to mind so I went with it!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, you don't want to silence it completely!. What you want to do is to get it off your back for the time being!. You first have to hear it out, listen to what it's saying!. Then you have to decide just how valid the criticism is -are you doing something that needs to be corrected!? If so, do it!. If not, why are you being critical of yourself!? You should proceed and enjoy who you are, telling the inner critic "see you later"!.

Use logic and reason to outwit the emotional impulses that lie behind an inner critic, and thereby rein in the tendency to criticise!. It's hard to do that in practice sometimes though, but it's worth trying, because well-thought out logic triumphs over irrational emotion!. (inner critics are rarely rational and tend to be based on flawed logic - at least mine is!)Www@QuestionHome@Com

The best way to silence an inner critic is to sit and listen to them for good! If we don't listen to that critic and try to silence them by force, the sure thing is that their voice will cover ours, cover our thoughts, drive us mad!. So, let's sit down and listen to them, once! But real good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Why do you want to silence it!. In my experience the inner critic saves you from many a trouble!. The best way is to listen it fully and thoroughly and then act!. The inner critic is your conscience, something that makes you a human - the crown of creation!.
