I'm not sure about the first part -I think the meaning of the gesture is often fully intended (even if it isn't blatantly obvious to all)!. In fact, the meaning of a gesture might even be underestimated by those who view them!.
The second part I agree with -a gesture is wasted if there's nobody around to see & interpret it!. Gestures should be for the benefit of others -if not, why should one bother to gesture!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
