Question: What's the difference between seeking praise and approval than seeking recognition!?

Praise might be for something unimportant - you seek praise for your appearance or your new car or how much money you have!.

Approval is acceptance of who you are as a person - you want acknowledgement that you exist and are a person worth listening to!. This is normal!.

Recognition would be for something you did which deserves to be acknowledged - like you seek recognition for a good idea at work when someone else is claiming it was their idea - this is just a form of seeking justice, unless you are falsely seeking recognition!.

They are all pretty close though and can be used interchangeably in some cases!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Technically, not much -all of them mean you feel the need to be noticed - praise means you need to have your ego stroked on top of being noticed, approval means you need to hear you did something right!.

Praise is more for personal reasons, recognition and approval are more of a check to make sure things are going good and someone sees it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Praise and approval are subset of recognition!. Recognition could be everything that someone offer to confirm that you did something whether it is good or not!. Sometimes, we need recognition on what we've done but not the judgment on what we did!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

approval is when you are thanked for doing something!. recognition is when you stand at the top of a hill and expect everyone to thank you for doing something!.-blureyWww@QuestionHome@Com
