Question: Aesthetics: Is the Philosophy forum suffering from too much that is not Philosophy!?

Yes, I imagine YA usually gets worse over the summer holidays!. I think that it suffers from the same thing as the psychology forum does!. Most questions aren’t about philosophy or psychology but more pseudo-mystical/self-help type or ‘spiritual’ questions!. I used to attempt to answer ‘bad’ questions with intelligent answers and I had some success, but I just got bored and I’ve drifted to a few other categories on here!. I often wish that we could give questions thumbs down, as there are so many stupid questions asked here that lie the right side of abuse but the wrong side of meaning, use or interest!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Dear Yaoi, Please define for me, if you can, what is within and without the realm of philosophy!. By me, everything and every subject in existance is subject to questions like "What is it doing here!?" and "Why is it in my life!?"Www@QuestionHome@Com

Of course this question is not really a matter of aesthetics at all, and it simply falls into the same category of drek that it claims to identify and criticize!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i know what you mean!.!.!. but I wont go reporting all that!.!. that's just mean!.!.!. people can learn!.!.!. i like the fact that at least they do come here to this section! for whatever reasons!Www@QuestionHome@Com

!.!.!.simply stated: YES!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The "philosophy forum" does not "suffer" as it has no feeling!.

The human sense of order and beauty, called "aesthetics," may suffer!.

Such suffering tends to arise per submissions' offending the individual's sense of propinquity as to "what are genuine subjects for philosophy!."

Wittgenstein noted his occasional gain by and valuation of doing philosophic inquiry in the by-ways and markets!.

By their questions ye shall know them!.

Authentic human aesthetic suffering, for the more formal philosophic inquirer, is having briefly to gloss over the many "Chicken and egg!?", "What is the meaning of life!?", etc!., types of questions!.

Most of these questioners seem genuine, and their human dignity in a democratic setting imo outweighs the mild inconvenience of others' briefly reading and having to dismiss such questions as less than worthy or interesting!.

Y/A philosophy forum was more designed for the majority, whose opinions of what constitutes philosophy are likely both sincere and comparatively naive!.

Perhaps a second-tier Y/A philosophy forum, or, more simply, a few dedicated souls who would exercise their "Report Abuse" buttons!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
