If people said i'm forever in your debt or something then wouldn't lots of people be like slaves!. Well you get what i mean!. i guess what i mean is it's kind of a good thing people don't always follow their word Just food for thought!. What's your thoughts!?Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Hi, interesting!. people do not allow enough value for their words, to be sure!. i have spent years trying to understand how words affect thoughts, and vice versa!. i think married with children - the tv show - had a major turning point in our american society, silly as that may sound!. it was a show completely irreverent of family values and popularized saying cruel things to people we should be caring about - making light of the horrid things we can say to eachother and even making it normal to say and have such hateful thoughts about our loved ones!. it is deplorable the sorts of things that we say to one another!. my mother taught me that we hurt the ones we love!.!.!. so, combined with other terrible family values that i learned, i lived my life with abusive men!. i learned that i deserved the ill-treatment, that it was my perception of others' behaviors that was wrong - not the treatment that i was receiving!. there was always a justification, some reason that made it okay!. i have learned that what i learned was ridiculous, but, far too late - the teachings have been internalized and the damage has been done!. i am recovering from a nervous breakdown due to the continuous abuse, but i am almost 40 years old!. thankfully i never brought a child into my pathetic world, but, that also means i have most likely lost my opportunity for having a child and being able to bring up a child in a healthy environment!. poo!. words are so much more powerful than most people recognize!. we have taken abusive and hateful language and normalized it into our daily lexicon!. we have normalized abuse, and called those that object the politically correct pushers of nonsense!. sad, but true!. we should always be vigilant of what we say!. the damage it does may not show itself for years to come!.!.!. when our daughters have spent decades having the crap beat out of them by worthless and cruel men, but didn't have the sense or self-esteem to know they might have deserved better!. as the old adage goes!.!.!. sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me!. words to live by, if you haven't been taught to endure the words as acceptable and what you deserve!. people should always mind their language!.!.!. language does, in the end, dictate thought!.Www@QuestionHome@Com And what if Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said he wanted to wipe the Israeli people off the map!. Do we take him at his word and REACT with a preemptive strike, causing the region to go up in smoke, OR do we WAIT until he has made the FIRST move THEN punish him for it!? The way the over emphasized phrases have developed over time is very strange!.
