Question: Question about free will, by God!?
God gave man free will, so we can do whatever we want!. But because of this, does it mean that God has no direct control over our lives!? If my question's answer is yes then it goes to say that when people like Hitler and Stalin took power and killed anyone they wanted, that God was powerless to stop them because it would interfere with free will!?

I myself do not believe in God!. But in the book "Night", Elie was doubting the Kindness of God, and began to hate him!. Do you think that near the end of the book when he began to regain his faith he realised this, or was he just happy to hae finally been rescued!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

The foolish notion of free will is accepted (particularly by religious adherents) as such: "I have the ability to choose between bread or beans, therefore I have free will; god is great!"

Whether the object of choice be bread or beans, doctor or lawyer, 4am or 6pm, is irrelevant!.

One must look past the notion of free will on an individual basis in order to verify the "Freeness" of it!.

Consider a pile of ants: if ants had the consciousness of free will, they would say that they are free; they can go right, they can go left, at will!. They can stray from the group to find food at will!. But when you look at them collectively, you find they are all the same; their movements are scripted, not by themselves, but by nature!.

What then can we say of free will!?
How different are we from ants!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I had to read the book in my freshman english class and this is what I think!.

I think Elie was tired of going through what he was going through!. He was tired of people dying; tired of all the orders; tired of the lack of food; tired of being held prisoner; etcetera!. This caused him to lose faith!. He just felt like God had betrayed him, and all the others!. He felt like he didn't care about his people like he had said he did, and he just felt that he was already living in 'hell'!. Once he was rescued though, he started regaining his faith!. I believe he just thought that God was being merciful again, and that he was with him all along!. He simply became frustrated and mad at him!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Once given, the new owner of the gift takes procession and responsibility of the gift!.

The problem really is when someone claims -- in the name of god -- control of all power of the universe, for that claim also includes all responsibility of the universe!.

I don't blame god for withholding the power, but I hold the religious hypocrites responsible for creating false hopes, trying to take god's work into their own hands and failing it without shame!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

God is!. His power extends to all things!. What creation can stand against its creator!?

The primary human vanity is believing yourself to be greater than Him!. Do you suppose you know better than God what should and should not be!? Where were you when He created all things!? What have you to compare with all that is!? You think you deserve better than what goes on in the world!? And what have to done to make it so!?

The choice God gave you was try grain his mercy or his wrath!. It is really that simple!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Free will has been coined and defined by the ancient Greeks, who believed human beings are superior to other living things in that they can control their instincts, emotions and desires by means of reason!. Aristotels spoke about the "autonomy of will" referring to what Pythagoras had said: “No man is free who cannot command himself!.”Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't believe in god as a person who gave anyone anything!. Free will is a bit of a mythical concept anyway!. No one is truly free, we have to live in a society with rules and a pecking order!. Life is based on consequences, not free will!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

as a strong believer in him I know that

1!. He is always powerful!.
2!. He only knows why he let it happen!.!.!. Hence it might of happened for a reason!.

That's all know!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

he chose not to interfere even though he has the power to do so!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

God gave us free will, we can do whatever we want!. We can open ourselves up to anything, interact with demons, submit to the reign of culture and caste systems, and do all kinds of things that He hates!. it's not that he's powerless- he doesnt WANT to make all our decisions for us, because then we are puppets!.

it's a common sentiment, but God is not unkind for the wrongs humans do to other humans!. everyone who has rejected Him and His law is an outlaw, and the outlaws have no right to blame the government for the wrongs they do to each other!. it's that simple!.

especially when God only promotes peace and compassion between people!.

and He DOES occasionally interfere- delicately- to show people the error of their ways!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well i believe in God and here is my point of view,

God is much more powerful than us, He is our creator and lord so definitely he has power over our lives!. As a matter of fact God planned every day of our lives in advance!.
The bible says: “It is God who directs the lives of his creatures, everyone’s life is in his power!.” Job 12:10

The bible says: “It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for!. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had design on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone!.” Ephesians 1: 11

The bible says: “you saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe!. Every day was recorded in your book!” Psalm 139: 16

God gave us free will as well as commandments!. also, God gives us free will out of his kindness!. He gives a chance to search by ourselves for the truth and to seek his love once again!. Believe me if you read the bible and have a relationship with God you’ll agree with me

Remember God planned it all for his purpose [all include the good and bad things], He never does something accidentally, and God never makes mistakes!.

With all respect,

God has given us free will, but he also knows what you will decide before you decide it!.
For example, If there is a parade and you are watching it from the streets, you can only see what floats have turned the corner!. If I went up in a hot-air balloon, I already know the line-up of the parade before it even happens!.

But remember, God has a plan for each person, it is not because God has a lack of power that he doesn't intervene, it's just that this is the result of our free will!. In other words, we have caused corruption, not God!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
