Question: Why do people feel the need to insult you when you're wrong, but they don't praise you when you're right!?
People verbally try to chastize me when I make a mistake (I'm 24)!. But when I do something very well, & I say, "Well, why don't you praise me when I'm right!? Why do you always point out my flaws!?" & they say, "Because you ought to KNOW better!"
I have a mental disability, & I'm sort of mentally off @ times!. also, I was stuck in the house all day in my room with no TV, no phone, no NOTHING!. No one really taught me anything!. All I learned was book material in school!. I was always punished for no reason, being abused for no reason (in foster care), etc!. So, there are MANY things I don't know because I never got to have much experience!. & when I try to explore new adventures, & a disaster happens, I get criticized!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I feel that one reason is because the person is insecure about themselves to begin with!.
Another reason falls into human nature!. For instance, if you've gone shopping or had a bad experience as a customer in a store one of the first actions of recourse is to Speak To A Manager and complain about the poor service you received!.
How many of us have had a Speak To A Manager experience to give praise to someone that went out of their way to give you good information or customer service!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
People want to feel big and powerful and one way of doing that is putting others down!. It's ridiculous and hurtful and I don't think it's okay!. People don't praise because they sometimes feel embarrassed or they don't feel like they need to!. It's easier to put someone down than to pull them back up!. It's just a part of human nature!. Some people are able to get over it, while many others are not!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Yeah, when you perform well, it becomes expected!. I know all about that!. You learn to hate it!.
Plus, I think people just don't like to praise!. It's just so much easier to complain than it is to praise!. (Or to fix things!.) Just like it's easier to knock things down than it is to build them up!. And most people are really lazy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Because people are mean!. I had a life like yours!. It took a couple of break downs to realize that its not worth it to wait around for approval or praise!. If people dont like what you do and insult you thats their problem!.!.!. Become your own best friend!.!. Its much easier that wayWww@QuestionHome@Com

why they go after flaws: well that's a little easier!. people are still pack animals [yes we're animals, get over it]!. Being different isn't good for survival!. More primitave animals kill the oddballs off so they can't breed[not saying its genetic, but thats animal mentality for ya]!. I kind of know what you mean however I do not have a disability of any sort ,I was always very humorous and very care free!. When Im wrong it's usually "freakin Luigi careless as always!!!!!" When Im correct it's not really noticed it more like "Geez I thought you were going to screw up AGAIN!!!!"
