Everyone, i hope, must feel this pressure, (the pressure to be a certain way, live a certain way, classify yourself a certain way, present yourself a certain way) and realize that its disgusting and futile!. Trying to fit your lifestyle into this mold causes you so much unhappiness, and i feel that most people realize this at one point or another in their lives!. Its so hard though to make a clean break from it!. Even the people who are more or less free from this cultural mindset have days where feelings of insecurity seep in!. Good days and bad!. I guess its just best to realize what you have stated in your question, and then continue living, doing the best you can!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I do agree that today's society forces people to believe that their appearance and social relations are the most important aspects of their characters!. However, I believe that those who are superficial are more apt to follow in this example while those who are insecure are not!. Although they may at times [or often] feel uncomfortable with themselves and heir appearance, they are still not following the norm!. Although many people are social creatures, not all people are!. Therefore, I believe that these people especially will not be superficial because they have few people that they go to for acceptance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I think it is almost impossible to be secure in today's world!. We have so many images and opinions coming at us from all sides!. The Federal Government (United States) governs us with fear!. The media tells us terrible facts and gives warnings about food, health, and a myriad of dangers!. How can a person feel secure today!? As for superficial - a person does not have to be superficial to survive today!. However, you have to be able to handle lots of criticism!. Just don't buy into the fads and current ideas if you don't like them!. Be yourself!. A truly intelligent person doesn't want to be like everybody else!.Www@QuestionHome@Com |
