um!.!.!.!.global warming is the thinning of Ozone layer!.!.!.!.ryt!? which causes the warming and climate changes here on earth!.!.

It is the result of high CO2 in the air that causes the breaking of the ozone!.!.!.!.!.
CO2 increase in atmosphere due to increase usage of products containing CO2 like in some sprays, in the car, in the refrigerator, methane, airplanes!.!.!.etc!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

Many chemical compounds present in Earth's atmosphere behave as 'greenhouse gases'!.

1!. These are gases which allow direct sunlight (relative shortwave energy) to reach the Earth's surface unimpeded!.

2!. As the shortwave energy heats the surface, longer-wave (infrared) energy (heat) is reradiated to the atmosphere!.

3!. Greenhouse gases absorb this energy, thereby allowing less heat to escape back to space, and 'trapping' it in the lower atmosphere!.

4!. Many greenhouse gases occur naturally in the atmosphere, such as carbon dioxide, methane, water vapor, and nitrous oxide, while others are synthetic!.

5!. Those that are man-made include the chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs),
hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and Perfluorocarbons (PFCs), as well as sulfur hexafluoride (SF6)!.

6!. Atmospheric concentrations of both the natural and man-made gases have been rising over the last few centuries due to the industrial revolution!.

7!. As the global population has increased and our reliance on fossil fuels has been firmly solidified, so emissions of these gases have risen!.

8!. While gases such as carbon dioxide occur naturally in the atmosphere, through our interference with the carbon cycle (through burning forest lands, or mining and burning coal), we artificially move carbon from solid storage to its gaseous state, thereby increasing atmospheric concentrations!.

1!. Global warming is believed to be due to an enhancement of the greenhouse effect!.

2!. The greenhouse effect:
(i) Heat radiation from the Sun travels to the Earth and reflects off its surface;

2!. Higher temperatures affect weather systems and can lead to hurricanes, tornadoes etc!.

3!. Higher temperatures can kill off species of plants and animals and increase the size of deserts, leading to longer periods of drought and famine!.

1!. The Sun gives heat to Earth!.

2!. In the atmosphere, there is something called Greenhouse Gases which traps some of the heat that is given off by the Sun!. Without these gases, which the most famos is Carbon Dioxide (C02), than the Earth would freeze!.

3!. The machines humans use give off C02 in very large amounts!.

4!. This causes an overload of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, so more heat is trapped from the Sun!. This causes the Earth to get hotter and hotter!.

5!. The entire earth gets hotter as a result and there seems to be no way to remove the CO2 without making the world a gigantic forest or stop giving off C02!.
