Question: "real" or happy!?
What is more important to you!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
They can exist together, but if I had to choose, I would pick real over happy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Why do they necessarily have to oppose each other!?

I would not to be deluded if that is what your getting at,
but I believe true personal happiness or peace of mind is real!.
Happiness is a state of mind, if one is happy that happiness is real!. That being said, by real, I'm assuming you mean the external world around the happy state of mind!. And, the question of what is real and what is not is very abstract and cannot be answered directly within the context of this question comparing it to a state of happiness!.

Oh, from your additional info, I now know what you mean by "real"!.
Your question left a lot of room for interpretation!.
I think it is impossible to be happy if one is not honest with themselves, "real" or truthful with themselves!. They are either phony and compromise themselves for power or prestige and are never really happy, or they are honest with themselves and are happy!.

Peace, Keep it real!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They need not oppose each other, but!.!.!. There might not be reality in happiness, but for the seeker, there will be happiness in reality -- in a permanent context!. Being a seeker, I'd choose "real!." But for the non-seeker, "the real" or "the truth" can bring in unhappiness, so I'd choose happiness for him or her!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

What gives the "realist" the right to judge the person who says they are happy!? If I am happy and I am being myself, is that not being real!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I havent found much of either in my life and dont expect to!.
They are both based on perception!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
