Very much!. Real Genius that Sun Tzu

The full quote is BTW
"All warfare is based on deception!. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near!. Hold out baits to entice the enemy!. Feign disorder, and crush him!."

Another one of my favorites is
"25!. In making tactical dispositions, the highest pitch you can attain is to conceal them; conceal your dispositions, and you will be safe from the prying of the subtlest spies, from the machinations of the wisest brains!.
26!. How victory may be produced for them out of the enemy's own tactics--that is what the multitude cannot comprehend!.
27!. All men can see the tactics whereby I conquer, but what none can see is the strategy out of which victory is evolved!.
28!. Do not repeat the tactics which have gained you one victory, but let your methods be regulated by the infinite variety of circumstances!."

Love it hehe

EDIT I have to agree :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I disagree!. Maybe that works in a fist fight and temporarily in Middle East and Republican politics but in the end these techniques make you become discredited and disbelieved as a scheming liar!.

Litigation is warfare and I found following the rules, being ethical and showing your hand actually will allow your opponent to understand that he will lose and will bring the litigation to a quicker fairer end!.

In the forum of ideas deception and lies is not a good strategy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sun Tzu is usually correct!. However there are times when new weapons are introduced that literally eliminate the need for surprise or deception!. But Sun Tzu only knew what was available to him and new weapons hadn't been introduced in his lifetime!.

He also was restrictive in his definition of warfare!. Today we talk about economic warfare, and many other forms of warfare that Sun Tzu never knew!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you wish to attack your opponent 'precisely where he cannot defend' while getting him to 'attack you at your strongest points'!.!.!.deception is imperative!.!.!.unless you are dealing with an idiot!. If you are fighting an idiot there is no need to study Sun Tzu!.
If you are not dealing with an idiot!.!.!.and you should always assume you are not!.!.!.the importance of spies (and counter spies) cannot be overemphasized!.!.!.for they are both the seeds of our deception, and the keys to the unlocking of our opponent's!.
There is no honour in war!.!.!.if there truly was honour between two sides, there wouldn't be a war!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

All ware fare is based on deception in some way or another, deception of enemy, or deception of self!. Morale is deception, deception of self believing that one soldier on one side is better than one on the other!. And morale is a part of every battle!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

if we said why we are fighting, will we get voted back in!?
if we told the other side what we are going to do, will they let us!?
if we win, we get to write the history book, and determine the historical bad guyWww@QuestionHome@Com

I seem to remember using this quote in an undergrad paper about the origins of the Second Iraq War!. My answer then was yes!. Now I guess I would still agree!. Although, I question whether some warfare might not be based on other things!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
