I believe that we create our own reality with our thoughts and emotions - and some times we do it subconsciously!. I call this "roadkill theory" and I will tell you why!.

I used to see roadkill around all the time and I was outraged!. How could people harm animals this way and just leave them!? Every time I saw it I said to myself "I can't understand how people could do that!" and before too long the Universe showed me by putting me in a position where I caused some roadkill!. Suddenly I understood that it was hard to see those little things, they run right in front on a twisty road - and who can stop there, especially on their way somewhere or with kids in the car!.

Now I certainly did not ask to kill that animal - but I did ask the Universe to understand it by saying "I don't understand that" over and over again!. We do it in so many ways and in so many situations - sometimes positively and sometimes negatively!. There is a reason for everything and that reason is because someone wants to see what will happen or if they can handle it!. We create our own world and our own lives everyday - that's the reason!.

You've identified a key dividing line between Rationalists and Radical Empricists (Phenomenologists)!.

The first group, represented by philosophers like Descartes and Leibniz, claim it is inconceivable that something should ever happen for no particular reason!. Therefore, everything that happens must happen for some reason, and there must be some reason why it could not have been otherwise!. Leibniz even made this a logical axiom he called the Principle of Sufficient Reason, and placed it at the very heart of his Rationalist system!.

The second camp, whose most prominent thinker would likely be Hume, thought that there was no rational justification for believing the universe followed the same rules that goverened the human mind!. That is, even though it is inconceivable *for humans* that something should ever happen for no particular reason, these are not grounds to assume the universe doesn't behave that way!. Hume and others posited that phenomena were to be taken as "brute facts", beyond human explanation!. Any attempts to ascribe a causal or explanatory framework to reality (as the Rationalists did) was futile!. For Hume, the very concept of "causality" is merely a byproduct of human pyschology; it is *not* a principle that need inhere in reality beyond the human mind!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

NATURE has no cognition of what it does, so nothing that happens in Nature has a purpose other than to be the effect of a cause of an effect of a cause!.!.!.!.!.!."

It is generally conceded that if God exists He does not interfere with human affairs--not often, if ever, because "real" miracles that the Christian religion were founded on don't happen anymore!.

Therefore, there is only in human action that purpose is to be found, and then only if want to look for it when it isn't obvious!.

However, you can actually learn good lessons from nature if you study the causal relationship; or the reactions of humans toward the even whether those reactions are psychological or monetary or emotional, etc!. But learning from it does not infuse it with "inherant meaning" of its own!. Nature has no purposes of its own!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nothing happens for a reason, per say, meaning that for different people there can be different reasons as to why something happens!. As we all see the world slightly differently it is hard to say that there is one real objective meaning for each event that occurs!.

however if you are looking at cause and effect than it is possible to say that each event does have a cause and an effect!.

But then on a deeper level if it is true as some suggest that time is an illusion than cause and effect become redundant, then we are left with the moment being what it is without any reason or without any cause at all!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think that human nature is to find a reason for any occurance!. The fact that in any circumstance a reason can be given for the specific event, as well as for the event not occuring shows that we are just ascribing meaning to things that are random!.

To suggest that everything happens FOR a reason is to suggest that the end is predetermined!. That the event MUST happen so that the next event can occur as it should!. This is nonsense!. If I decide to jog home instead of walk, and get hit by a bus which then leads to the bus drivers trauma which leads him to go into therapy which leads him to meet the love of his life in the waiting room!.!.!.!.!.!. that does not mean that my jogging home was supposed to happen for his love life!. That is just the way life is!. Things happen, which cause other things to happen!.

One can look at the past and rightly say that if things did not occur we would not be in the place we are today!.!.!.!.!. but that is a matter of cause and effect, not of meaning!. They did not HAVE to occur the way they did, in which case we would be in a different environment looking back and ascribing meaning to those different events!. This means that their is no objective reason for events!.!.!.!.!. simply that their are effects of all events that lead to other events!. In fact it is even a scientific proposition that all possible outcomes exist in different realities!.!.!.!.!. such that our reality is only a single expression of the multitude of probabilities of given events throughout time!. If true this would mean that every possible event and its outcome exist in seperate realities ours simply being one of the infinite variety!.

If the phrase is altered slightly it is absolutely valid!. instead of "Everything happens for a reason" it should be "Everything that happens has a reason for it"Www@QuestionHome@Com

I believe most things happen as a result of something else, but that no one is able to see all of the factors that brought it about!. Even if you are talking about something thought up by one single person, that person was still influenced by their culture, their education, their upbringing, etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

it happens just like that there are no reason as such it's we who look for the reason!.!.!.and life is more beautiful if we look at things without reasons!.!. reasons are just itching of mind and our mind doesnot believe any thing without logic!.!.and it creates problem only!.!.you just look thing as they are than you will be more relaxed and amazed!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Everything happens for a reason!.!.!. Nothing happens without consequence!. The result is good or bad it all happens because something else happens before it!. And it will always cause something else to happen after wards!. That's why the big bang theory makes no sense whatsoeverWww@QuestionHome@Com
