I don't think everyone does that to prove themselves!.!.!.usually I just let them go and try to be patient because I know I do the same thing!. I do it because it's hard for me to find the right words!. With people who are actually trying to prove themselves!.!.!.I can usually tell, and after my patience runs thin with them, I tell them I get their point and I repeat that statement until they stop or I can politely get away from the conversation!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are many people like that, they use repetition, repeating the same thing 5 times, in the end the bext thing to do is bare with it, they are suffering some form of insecurity and they need to do this to make themselves not feel useless!.

This again happened to me last night, my partner wanted to tell em something at 11pm that was only 10 minutes, conatcnt repetition later, constant telling me all the details i didn't need to know and it was 12:30 am after midnight, i had to get up at 6!.30am so didn't respond with too much details, and started falling asleep and wanting to get to bed, then a 30 minute argument started about why i had so little to say in return!. I just bare with it, what can you do, i had five and a half hours sleep and am exhuasted!. I don't know the full details of why people do it, but i am fed up and angry, i will be creating another argument when i get home as my partner doesn't work and is now in bed, i am in front of my office PC falling asleep thinking about a double espresso!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I just say!.!.!. " It's ok, you don't have to explain yourself to me" and when do go on saying " no i want to explain this" then i just say "Well don't because i just dont care about what you have to say, so drop it!."

My question is this: how do you stop yourself from over explaining!. Because i always end up adding extra sentences (like this one, and this bracketed thingy probably counts as extra) to everything i say and the sad thing is I'm not even kidding!. No really, I'm not!.
